JB4 reset and half engine light on WOT

On freeway this morning and went WOT in 4th gear
JB4 reset to map 4 and half engine light came on with the usual warning message

"we are shutting down your engine to prevent a catastrophic meltdown please refrain from getting sideways until the problem is resolved. have a nice day"

Second time its happened since getting DPs installed....

JB4 set on map 2
Running 20L E85 topped up to a full tank of 98
Boost peaking at 12-14

Any ideas guys??

U got the cable to log? Just log it first. just log it or everyone's advice will be educated guesses. There are quite a few reasons for this.

Nope, no laptop and no cable to log

have BMWhat app so I guess I could check the codes.... BTW r u coming to the meet on Sunday Fossy?

yeah check the codes that way.

i might come by seeing as no work on saturday, ill see how things go.

See if you can count the blinks it does to switch to map 4.

Hey Scotty, yep cable is installed but I don't have a laptop to plug it into. (something else I gotta buy!!!) Ill plug the BMWhat app in tomorrow and see if there are any codes...

Buy the JB4 app and use a USB OTG cable if you have an android device. Not sure on iPhone

^ this. So much easier to log on the app.
If you don't have iPhone even a base model android phone is cheaper than a laptop if this is your only purpose. But with a laptop you can use it for other things like downloading game of thrones, or porn, whatever.

Socks, my guess is that your trims are maxed causing you to run lean (20L is about E27 which should be fine, but some cars are less tolerant than others), and/or your fuel pressure is taking a dive. But the only way to tell is logging that bad boy... otherwise like others are saying we'd be just guessing.

I didn't know they had an app for JB4, I'm going to check it out.

I was thinking about buying one of those cheapo sub $300 netbook from office works for JB4 use, but now this is even cheaper!
