I was set on getting the shorter oem e90 shift knob, but now i'm leaning towards the shorter M knob since its weighted... hmmmm.... I wish that team voodoo made shift knobs for this car.

That is funny that you said that. I have been thinking the same thing about the voodoo shift nob. I wonder what the screw size of the knob bold is; cause ive been thinking of trying the voodoo knob off the S when my 335 arrives in 2 weeks.

It can't hurt to try it. I actually just sold my voodoo knob around 2 weeks ago.

To the poster who put up pics of the concept E92 M3, I just saw videos of the production E92 M3 and it will be using the long leather M shifter very similar to that of the E46 M3 used. Basically, it will be using the same shifter as the current E60 M5 equipped with the 6 speed manual. I hope to get that one and the same ///M tri-color stitching steering wheel that will be on the E92 M3 as my first mods, both look really good!

It is unclear if that means both knob and e-brake weigh 24.2oz or if just the knob weighs that much. It wouldn't surprise me if the knob itself weighs 24.2 oz. Stock weighs about 3 oz. Weighted ///M knobs weigh around 6 oz. Judging by the picture on the site, looks like you would save about an inch in height in the low position...hard to tell tho. Edit: According to this thread the knob itself weighs 24.2 oz and is an inch lower. Man...I'm good estimating! LOL. |

No "M" Logo on M-Sport Knob?
Anyone know if the OEM 6MT cover (w/o "M" logo) can be used with the E90 M-Sport knob shown at the start of this thread? I really like the shorter knob and perf leather but I don't like using a M logo on a non-M car (335xi)

Swap Shift Knob Emblem?
I have a new E90 6MT (Knob #1) and have ordered the M-Sport shifter (Knob #3), I would prefer not to have the M logo since my car is not an M model. Will the emblem from the standard E90 knob fit the M-Sport knob? How difficult is it to swap them?

I originally switched mine to # 2 (like $100), which was better than the OEM stock. However, I recently switched to these (#4), which are weighted and it makes shifting a sheer joy ! My old one (#2) is in great shape, comes with the boot, if anyone is interested in it. its for e92.

E90 Short Shift Knob looks the best.
In staying consistent with the materials used in the interior, the knob should have a balance of leather and the brushed metal (or wood if that's what you have). Aesthetics vary from person to person but IMO, it would be completely random to have the stock BMW interior and a full brushed aluminum or full CF shift knob right in the middle of the car. |

I haven't seen this knob posted before...has anyone had any experience with it? Looks heavier and shorter than the standard knob. It's in the 3 Series accessory catalog from BMW. MSRP: $93.60
Matching brake handle: $105.00
