Thanks for the info.

Never heard of WPpro. I wanted AP racing but I found out Wilwood was much cheaper.

Oh wow, they have Laguna Seca colored calipers...

So if I want to put 328/325 rear brakes on my 335 to fit 15" drag wheels what all do I need? Mind you I want my parking brake to work. Hopefully someone will be able to point me in the right direction.

And how are you going to fit the 15s up front? Anything under 17" won't fit over the front calipers of the 335.

He is asking specifically about the rear and he will have to look into brakes from older platforms, like the e36. Same would apply for the front as well, but that is not what he asked...

Yea I only asking about the rears I'm not concerned with the front as of now.
So from what I understand the rear 325 are smaller than the 328, correct?
If i went with 325 rear brakes would I just need the calipers, carriers, pads, rotors and shoes?
Will my hand brake still work? (I need it to)
I'm not looking to modify (cut/weld shoes), I'm looking to bolt something up. I just need a list of parts that will allow me to fit a 15" rear wheel ONLY.
Let me know if you guys can direct me in the right direction THX!!

If you must have better brakes on your 328i, just get motul RBF600 fluid and a set of carbotech XP8 pads f&R.

According to the measurements, yes it will bolt on and the parking brake will work. However, I'm not aware of this being done in the past. Usually people upgrade not downgrade.

Do you know what the clearance is with this setup? What is the smallest size wheel i would be able to fit back there? 15"...16"? Any diagram or link to a digram would be greatly appreciated?

The rotor is 300mm from e34 525i which came with BMW Style 5 wheels 15x7 et 20. There isn't any smaller setup with the large 180mm parking brake shoes.
I'm not sure about the breaking performance but regarding bolt on and functionality, all most 100%

how could this bolt up with no issues if modification to the brake shoes was needed to the 328s due to the drum on the 328 rotors being smaller than the drum on the 335 rotors

read it like 20 times, you want to use an e34 rotor with e90 caliper? so the e34 has the 180mm drum for the e brake but isn't it 300x10 instead of 300x20? will this still work together?

Correct, it should work. Like previously stated, I have not done something like this nor I know somebody that has. Usually people upgrade. I gave the advise solely based on measurements. The e34 rotor has similar offset as well. Only problem that I can foresee is when the pads are very worn out since the rotor is thinner. Other than that it should function.

Anyway, I can tell you from personal experience that the E90 sedan uses rear pads faster than the front when both are the same compound! I normally run with the DSC off so that is not leading to excessive rear wear. The implication is the 328i has a rear brake bias. And that is not optimal for track driving where to brake hard you want the front brakes doing more of the work where the weight of the car is.

So, for me, I am contemplating changing out just the front calipers and parts to the 335i dual piston setup to see if I can shift the bias a bit more forward. Especially if I can find a 335i owner that wants to sell the parts after upgrading to a BBK. I see that the whole 3 series has the same master cylinder and the same front suspension knuckles which almost ensures that the pedal feel would be proper and that the 335i caliper carriers would bolt on with no problems.

Another nugget.

The 328i does not have more "rear bias." What it does have, is an "electronic" rear differential that uses the brakes to simulate the effects of a limited slip differential. i.e. it applies the brakes on the rear wheel that's slipping to send power back to the one that's not.

The end result, is ANY of the BMWs that uses the same e-LSD design ('07 or later none legacy chassis*) that is tracked regularly will use up the rear brakes faster due to the e-LSD that can't be disabled.

Read through this thread before i picked up my car when new, and several times since. But in trying to find a better braking solution for tracking the car I've found the 135i front rotors and calipers with Stoptech pistons, boots, and seals work incredibly well with Hard Brake titanium shims and F30 shields when using XP10 pads and Torque RT700 fluid.

The rear caliper doesn't need to be upgraded at all, it's fine as-is with the exception of replacing the guide rod bushings with solid brass parts. Personally I don't think the brake lines matter at all but they're currently Stoptech fwiw.

With Toyo R!R tires the brakes provide more torque than the tires can transfer to the track via slip, they'll skip first. And the pads don't overheat. The car is light enough and not overpowered so this seems to be a great solution. Will be trying RB front rotors but with different pads, eventually, but it's hard to imagine a better solution than what's on the car now. And every bit of it is a simple drop-in without modifications to the e-brake, etc.

As a side benefit the brakes work perfectly on the street summer or winter without eating the rotors although the squealing can be a bit annoying if not used with a soft touch. Not that I care but it is kinda unavoidable.

the 135 setup is inferior to f30 370mm fronts.
