How many miles did your stock shocks last on after market springs?

Hey guys I know there is a lot of talk about getting coil-overs vs springs. This thread is about SPRINGS only on STOCK shocks. Please provide the following:

1. Car Model?
2. After Market Spring?
3. Sport Suspension / Non Sport Suspension?
4. Miles driven with after market springs before shocks went out?

Thanks.

Zero....I never just put half a suspension on. Should always pair your shocks with springs properly, unless you find springs with the same spring rate as stock....but whats the point. I've heard of people using OEM sport springs with Koni FSD shocks, they pair nicely together. Most, not all, of the time people who just get springs, no shocks, to lower the car suffer from a poor ride quality.

Either get shocks + springs or coilovers, just depends on what you want to do with your car. In my case, my car sees the track 5-10 times per year, so I couldn't justify buying coilovers for mostly daily driving.

Absolutely. Every time I tried springs only I had go back and get shocks later and spend even more money.

Ya I know but this thread is for comparison, so if you had springs on stock shocks I want to see some real numbers as stated above. I know you have to match COIL to SPRING, the point is how long will the stock shocks last on different springs. I you have that data maybe it would be easier for some folks to pick the right spring if they don't have the budget for coilovers or just can't justify them for the street.

2007 335i.

H&R Race springs + OEM sport shocks.

By 25K miles, the ride quality was pathetic. I have had the car only since then so the shocks might have gone out before that. Can't say.

Would strongly suggest not doing only springs specially if you are looking to go as aggressive as H&R race springs.

Garage List
2007 320i E90  [0.00]
Eibach Pro Kit + Stock Non Sport
12000 miles and still fine.

But the ride quality on bumpy roads is not that comfortable but they say this setup is the closest to Stock Ride Feel. I cannot comment on that because I have not tried other setups.
