Thanks, you were correct about the PI, I took it to a local guru (Long and David Vu) and he was able to sort out pretty quickly what other shops could not. There was a completely disconnected wire (rpm wire). Back in business!! He also put some Eldor coils in it while he was at it.

Can someone help me, upped my ethanol content to e50, have motiv flex fuel installed. Looks like I’m having some timing corrections again. Started to log Afr as well as WGDC. Thanks!

Your way off boost targets, probably have a boost leak, check your vacumn lines, replace them if they haven't been done. Diverter valve, boost solenoids, vacumn cannisters all need to be thoroughly checked. Check them one by one, don't go throwing cash and replacing everything altogether.

When were the plugs and coils done?

I have really bad wastegate rattle, stage 2 hybrid Vargas turbos ready to go in after the winter. Would that be the reason for the under boosting? I don’t get a 30FF code.

I thought the same thing, as mentioned above my wastegates rattle like crazy and they’re definitely letting a lot of boost out down low and a fair amount up top on WOT but t he targets still seem on the low side. Don’t take my word for it but I’m convinced that the flex fuel maps are significantly slower with lower to say numbers. When I was on a regular ethanol map I would see my boost targets going welcome to the high teens, 17, 18, 19 psi.

Get those bad boys installed and check all the lines while your at it. Then you'll be pushing some serious boost. I'm sure the WG's are at least part of the problem. Post back after please.

Worst case, yeah yours can be done for, if they don't stay shut the turbos can't build boost properly, That was the case for me before I had them uprated.

Heres a good guide to follow, if you tried everything else, and it's still off target, it's likely your wastegates aren't holding boost properly,

Hey All -- would love some input:

Pulling timing on all Cyls, under WOT...

MHD v9, Stage 1, 91oct, 55f ambient:
https://datazap.me/u/chris-ernst/mhd...7-8-9-10-11-20

MHD v9, Stage 1+, 91oct, 55f ambient:
https://datazap.me/u/chris-ernst/mhd...7-8-9-10-11-20

07 335i Stock
66k Miles
1-step colder NGKs & Eldors 4k miles ago
Index 01s injectors
Warrantied HPFP in 2010
Oil done every 4k
Walnut blast never done...

With the high IATs, was going to add FMIC, but maybe Walnut blast will correct the timing pulls? Injectors? DCIs are on the way. Guess I'll stay away from the E30 maps until I figure this out.

Had Vishnu OFT (RIP) on for last 8 years (was out of the tuning community for years)

For fun: Vishnu OFT, Stage 1, 91oct, 65f ambient:

91oct fuel isn't helping, but I'd pull the plugs or get them all checked and replace if needed, then you can move onto the injectors.

Use INPA to check injectors working properly before splashing the cash and going for a full set of index 12's.

Also flashing v7.1 might help a little as it has slightly less boost and timing.

What gap have you got on the 1 step colder plugs?

Avoid running stage 1+ maps without FMIC, stock intercooler will heatsoak and cause timing drops after a few pulls.

Thank you, Saif! Will check injectors with INPA...

NGK 95770 gapped at 0.022"

Should I try e30 to improve the octane?

could just try adding 2 gal of E85 with the 91 oct maps. Its got to help. Thats what I'm doing now. I was running E30 but when I go to 2+ E30 my stock LPFP is maxed out (it's on the wish list). 1+ E30 should be fine but you need to upgrade the FMIC next.

That's exactly what I was thinking... Might pull plugs first and take a look.

Do the IATs look normal? Could they be causing these timing corrections? Feels high for a cooler night (50f) and only a few pulls -- really see the value of a larger IC..

You could, as HB E90 said should improve timing corrections but keep an eye on the LPFP, if it drops to less than 60psi, personally would budget a Stage 2 LPFP upgrade.

Gap sounds fine, that's the recommended gap, check all the plugs first, Eldor Coils can fail, but probably unlikely.

Intercooler upgrade is inevitable, the stock one is absolute garbage for anything above stage 1. Even on stage 1 it can heat soak if you do multiple pulls.

IAT'S spiking and too soon which isn't good. Its more likely a combination of IAT's and bad fuel (91oct) plus possibly plugs and/or coils causing the timing corrections.

Interesting -- Timing pulls decreased with ~E30 on exact same map (MHD V9, 91Oct map Stage 1+), and IATs improved:

https://datazap.me/u/chris-ernst/mhd...-9-10-11-14-20

The same map, with 91oct:

Looks much better, it looks like it was the bad 91oct fuel which was causing the timing corrections. Your LPFP has dropped to about 55 psi though, would recommend you budget for an upgrade as well as FMIC for Stage 1+ map as recommended by MHD.
