Hi guys

I have some updated logs and I'm really concerned. 3rd gear pull looks ok but shifting into 4th I'm getting serious timing corrections. Up to -8 in cylinder 1 😲

How do my logs look?

E30 mix stage 2 plus.

MHD stage 1 weird throttle closure

odd throttle closure when entering into boost if I start the car and drive it until it gets up to temp I can pull all the way through third gear no problems but as soon as I try to drive aggressively and not worry about what gear I'm in the throttle completely closes for a second and it causes a pretty violent jerk inside the car this has been an ongoing issue and I'm so confused why it started so randomly

car is a 2007 BMW 335i at stage 1 MHD and a injen cold air intake

attached is my log

Have you got WG rattle or fix applied?

Can you flash v9 map and do a 3rd gear run from 2500rpm to 6000rpm WOT with DSC/DTC fully off. Post the log afterwards.

How did you get 1700 rpm on the log ?
I can see it takes around 850 rpm (3900 to 4750) which is ok is 2nd gear.

If you gonna run Stage2+ you need to upgrade intercooler. Otherwise run the correct map.

See how it goes.

Your right my bad typo error, 850rpm is still laggy though, should be taking a lot less rpm especially if he's going WOT from 3900rpm,

How is it Ok, when on a 3rd gear run from 2500rpm it should take around 500 rpm. If you look at logs, by around 3000 rpm most are on target. (on most 3rd gear logs) but a 2nd gear log from 3900rpm taking 850rpm to reach target is normal?

Okok

Yes, from 2500rpm in 3rd, around 500 rpm to reach at least 13psi is considered healthy (by MHD). In 4th gear it's shorter, maybe 300-400 rpm (in my car).

Automatically, in 2nd gear it will take more RPM, I think 850rpm might be ok even starting from 3900 rpm (especially not spooled like in the log).

The 2nd gear is a very fast gear, I would imagine reaching target in just 500 rpm from 2500 rpm, it will instant rip/spin tires or DSC will be crazy, and must be nice btw but I am pretty sure mine not reach target in 500 rpm in 2nd, more like 1000 rpm or more

I couldn't find a 2nd gear pull while digging in my datazaps, however a quick Google search gave me this result :

https://datazap.me/u/n54joe/2nd-gear...ta=2-3-4-12-21

I would have thought 2nd gear would reach target in less rpm, especially if your going WOT in 2nd gear from 3k+ and yes it should be spin city WOT lol, if DSC is on it should definitely be flashing.

V9 log shows your pretty much on target by 3k,

I guess a 3rd Log by Brodybk1 would show if wastegates are slacking

Can you try V9 map 3rd gear log from 2500 rpm to 6000rpm?

Looks like your FMIC might not be upto the job

Yep, spool rpm range works the opposite way, like, let's say it takes 500 rpm to reach target in 3rd, it will take less in 4th cause it takes more time, but naturally it will take longer in 2nd, it's more about spooling times in reality, more or less it should around 1 seconds to reach target, but in term of rpm, 1 second in 3rd = 500 rpm, 1 second in 4th = 300 rpm, and 1 second in 2nd is very fast, maybe 1000 rpm passed easily

I'd like to see a WOT 2nd gear log prove this theory. Especially from around 3k+

Your theory might be true if you were going WOT from 2500rpm in each gear and comparing, but I'm pretty sure the higher rpm you go WOT at in a gear the quicker it should reach Boost target,

v9 tune fixed the throttle cut but the car feels slower than ever not even meeting boost targets anymore

LOL

Are you kidding? or are you trying to do not understand ?

Think about being in gear... 3rd... 4th gear..... when you are in 3rd gear, it takes around 500 rpm to reach target, but when you are in 4th gear, it will take less RPM, it's normal, cause it takes longer in time to get target, and then in 2nd it will take more rpm, but it's the same in time, it's just logical

Looks like your wastegates aren't staying shut throughout the pull, also taking almost 1k to reach target indicates a fair bit of lag.

Try tightening WG rods to see if it makes a difference,

If 800+rpm in 2nd from nearly 4k to reach target was normal, it shouldn't take nearly 1k to reach boost target in 3rd as you clearly stated.

He posted a 3rd gear log, looks laggy (takes nearly 1k to reach target) plus WG duty cycle takes a nose dive halfway through and stays off target,

https://datazap.me/u/brodybk1/log-16...og=0&data=3-22

How about you go WOT from 2500 rpm in 3rd, look at how many rpm it takes to reach target. Then go WOT from 3000 rpm in 3rd and see if it reaches target faster.

Don't get me wrong bro, I totally agree with you on this one, but on the first log it was on the second gear. On this log it's on 3rd gear, it's a bit slow, but on the first log, in 2nd, it wasn't crazy, admit it or not.
