I have two e90 non idrive (I’ve retrofitted I-Drive) 2008 and 2010 and both have ITS. On the e90 2010 I had it coded out because it was showing fault.

Well, I'm ignoring it... I don't use my car frequently and my battery retain the charge very well... I want to tell to the DME that the car don't require IBS but i didn't found nothing the do that...

I have a 2010 320d E90 and it does NOT have an IBS on the negative terminal cable. Wasn’t a problem until very recently my car stopped cranking and the engine failed to start. This happens every now and then and the only solution to get it started is to perform a battery reset - Remove the battery’s negative terminal cable for about 15-20 minutes and plug it back. The engine then starts normally.

Not sure what does this battery reset do to the system that makes the engine start which otherwise won’t.

PS: There’s no iDrive, BMW Assist and Bluetooth in the car.

Is this ok to do? as i have a 2006 with retofitted facelift CIC. Iv had alternator problems recently. Also checked codes sometimes in the memory the CIC has had errors in the voltage and restarts. herefore i was wondering maybe an IBS is required and how do we go about adding it? is it simple as changing the negative lead? Im guessing some coding required.

Sorry. I don’t know how to add IBS on vehicle that don’t have it. I fists coded it out because was causing ABS and AIRBAG faults. Few months afterwards retrofitted CIC. No issues to my knowledge.

Actually I have the restraint system fault on my idrive. Seatbelt and airbag. I can use NCS expert.

By any chance do you know which section in NCS the IBS comes under?

I tried to fit an ibs negative lead it solved the error code for a few mins. Also nowhere to plug the blue clip. Only the main black one you can connect. So I'm going to put the normal negative lead back then code it out. Once I figure out which section in NCS it comes under

I won’t know. We used Protool for coding. It’s an option you need to check and the program does it.
