Looking for US spec swirl flaps

Is there anybody here with removed US spec M57 swirl flaps looking to send to a new home? I'm in the GTA and interested. PM me if you have. Thank you.

I think he wants the actual swirl flaps, not the blanks for when you remove them.

Correct. I'm looking for the swirl flaps themselves.

Thank you for the replies.

In would like a set that I can clean up and have on hand. I would consider reinstalling if my low rpm mpg is affected and soot mass in dpf increases at a higher rate than before removing. My data collection is on going.

Interesting. I have a brand new intake manifold and did the swirl flap delete, but have not installed it on the car yet. How are you collecting your data?

Carly at the moment and soon will use Torque and/or Testo. I just completed a 2.5 hour granny style country drive to the cottage and averaged 32.7 mpg which is off by about 4mpg under nearly identical conditions year over year. Using Carly I watched the Swirl flap target position % bounce around and could see during low rpm doing 100km it calling for swirl flap to open. My goals here are different than many. Love the power but want a complete and efficient burn for every drop of diesel if possible.

Sounds like your goal and the original designer's are 1 and the same. You can make more short-duration power running hot and dirty, but more towards that end of the spectrum takes away from reliability and longevity. Funny thing about the swirl flaps is they have little if any effect on power and removing them to prevent their failure is really disingenuous, with no documented risk except the big fear of "what if" somebody dreamed up floating around in people's minds.

But they do have a strong correlation to DPF longevity and fuel mileage in mixed driving. I wonder how many of the pre-maturely failed DPFs were running around without swirl flaps? My definition of "strong" in this context may be a little different than most. Good luck validating that claim.

I have set sitting in the box in my garage.
I removed it from my 13" X5d around 30K miles.

IMO those flaps have a poor design as the shafts are bearing on the plastic manifold.
At 75,000 mine wore the plastic and leaked from the seals behind faulting the glow plug controller. The remedy was to press in small bearings behind the seal to support the shafts.
