What Cobb Stage 1 aggressive map?

Hey Guys,

I finally picked up a Cobb AP and went on their site to download the stage 1 aggressive map since my 335 will be stock and running 93 octane for now. One thing I am confused on is...What map do I choose? There are a bunch of different N54 maps to go into and choose the stage 1 aggressive from. From I480s, I742S, I761S, etc, etc, etc...all the way to ILA0S and ILA0S IS.

Which do I go into to get my map from; the latest and greatest stage 1 aggressive?

Thanks for the help.

It stated I8A0S when I plugged it into the OBDII and for some odd reason, it already had the I8A0S stage 1 aggressive map along with others in the Cobb AP and I'm downloading it now. I guess the previous owner of this Cobb AP already had the maps I needed installed on it. He had a 135i though and mine is a 335i. Hope I'm doing it right since it looks like I don't have to download any maps from the Cobb website.

Glad you asked the question - Just ordered one myself - and was looking over the website. What else did you do to the car for the stage1 agressive? Did you add a new intake? Let me know your experiance after you load it into the car... I hope its worth the investment...

Thanks guys.

The car runs really strong now. The car is completely stock and just using 93 octane with the stage 1 aggressive map (it's what is recommended). I will either get a little better flowing drop in filter, do the stock airbox mod or get a nice looking DCI one day, but for now it'll stay completely stock.

Hey which aggressive map did you use? Linker or non linier? I'm flashing mine now. It is scary as hell when all these warning lights and buzzing noise kick in

oh yeah - just got mine today and wasted no time - I tried the liner first - but I realized I didn't really like it - kind of was like the car didn't want to go until you really pressed the gas - but now - in stock mode - I was spinning tires in 2nd gear... I can't imagine what it will be adding the fmic and air intake upgrades... now if Cobb could create a coding map for the features in the car, that would be totally worth the cost of these devices

Yeah, I think the linear makes the throttle feel too disconnected.

Glad to hear you like it. I would deff do a drop in air filter just so your car breathes better. I plan on switching to COBB soon.

That's my next move. Not too sure if I want just a drop in filter, modify the stock airbox or get a nice AFE cold air setup.

Decide how aggressively you're gonna mod the car. If you're gonna stay with just the tune (how it always starts ), then stick with a drop-in filter. If you're gonna start bolting up (FMIC, DPs, etc), then get any of the mainstream DCI options (BMS DCI, aFe Open or Closed Filters, Injen, etc) will be the way to go.

What do you guys think about running the Cobb stage 1+ or 2 aggressive with just the AFE stage 2 elite intake?

Not smart. When it comes to COBB, run the maps that corresponds with your mods and octane.

I hear ya. Was just thinking that with the good AFE stage 2 elite cold air intake and the turbo's pulling in cooler densor air, the stock intercooler may be just fine to run the Cobb stage 1+ aggressive. I run 93 octane minimum btw.

I wouldn't do it. You could always log and see though. The FMIC will cool alot more than any closed intake however. With 93 I'm pretty sure you can run the agressive Stage 1.

The stock FMIC is absolutely crap. It's ineffecient and has a relatively high pressure drop. IMO an upgraded IC should be the first mod installed after a tune. No intake is really going to help with charge air temps.

The cobb tunes are designed around the specified bolt-ons and there's more to it than just CATs.

Gotcha. I wasn't aware the stock intercooler was that inefficient. Guess I'll at least change that in the near future to keep things safe. I just don't want this (my daily driver) to end up a money pit like my S2000. LOL

Currently running the stage 1 aggressvie.
