E92 Performance Diffuser query

Looking to order one soon, for those who fitted one, do you actually need that extra new under tray piece to be able to fit it?

You don't need the undertray to fit the diffuser but it probably does help a bit with aerodynamics. Mine is a genuine oem performance diffuser bought about a year ago from BMW (thanks Raj! ) and mine never came with the undertray

Thanks mate, I'll grab the one that doesn't have the tray, seems to be considerably cheaper as well without the tray.

Garage List
I bought a diffuser from SSDD and I was able to cut the existing undertray to fit...

I had an OEM one for my e92 and it would only fit when I used the new undertray. This was on a 320d though (single exhaust setup) so maybe it's different for a 335i setup?

Ah good point. Yes the 335i doesn't have the undertray at all

Might play it safe then and get the full kit. Mstyle do the diffuser, undertray and painting so that looks a decent option at the moment

Yeah I do think it depends on model as to whether the undertray is required but then I fitted one to a members E91 (20d) and that didn't require the undertray piece either.
