It's a mistake. Why not PM Omar or Viral from ActiveAutowerk?

Should be 399, and I think there's even a 50$ discount for E90 members.

Sure. You'll love it. Very safe and satisfying throttle response. The extra HP is nice too. Good luck!

For those with the 330i Intake Manifold

OE Tuning, not the way to go...

I thought after the manifold swap you should go with another different tuner, I don't remember which one it is.

Once I go public, I will never get any of my $$ back

So I am waiting to see if the tuner in question does the right thing...

But at least you imply it is one of the two you mentioned?

Although it has a lot to do with your 3 stage am I correct? So your experience might not have much to do with a lot of us who do not have 3 stage?

You are correct

I did the 330i intake manifold on my 325i, then sent my ECU to OE Tuning. I spent $500.00 on the tune, and did not like the results. The car ran abruptly under WOT and has severe issues in the midrange of 2000-3500 RPM. I talked to another board member and we agreed that OE Tuning on the 325i inake manifold swap is not ready for prime time. So I sent my ECU to Active Autowerks. When OE Tuning found out I did this, they would no longer grant me a refund, and I had to eat the $500.00 I am now waiting for the Active Autowerks tune to be sent back, and hopefully all these issues are fixed. I am the second person that has had a problem with OE Tuning on the manifold swap… Sure they may have great tunes for the stock cars, but they simply don't have the 330i intake manifold swap down on a 325i at all...

I would bet that OE Tuning's issue with this is that the ECU was sent to a competitor with OE's tune still on it, so AA was just given OE's valvetronic tune changes. I would imagine that any tuner would not be happy if that happened with one of their tunes.

I had thought there was a third tuner for the 3stage manifold, not OE nor AA.

If they really wanted to get their hands on a competitors tune they could always just buy one for ~$500

How would you feel if you were a tuner and someone said "I don't like the tune that I bought" and "Oh, by the way, I sent my ecu with your tune loaded on it to your competitor." Followed by "Would you issue me a refund?"

But I don't know how OE came to know that 325imax was sending his ecu to AA. They may have just found out through another source and that would change it entirely.

I agree that you could just use a fake name and send an ecu to OE to get the info, but why pay when you can get it for free like in the above example.

I am not trying to take sides, but I can understand how a tuner would not be happy, especially with proprietary information.

I told OE I was sending my ECU to AA

I was very concerned with the tune, and OE offered me a partial refund, but I did not want to mail it back on my dime and wait another week to see if things got better. When you have a nice car and its sitting with the hood up for weeks, eventually you just want it fixed. Im not the first one to send an OE tuned ECU to Active A, and they won't want their proprietary code anyway... They told me they were going to flash right over the OE Tune.

Words of advise: Deal with a tuner you can take your car to, so when they have to flash, and flash again, and reflash.... you don't have to ship your ECU all over the country. Apparently I am still a pioneer with the 3 stage intake manifold swap, and I am crossing fingers that AA has the tune down, I have high hopes based on other's reviews...
