Pre Lci Halogen to Xenon Conversion
I picked up some used Pre-Lci Xenon headlights in poor cosmetic condition with the hope of saving them and perhaps fitting to my car. Have read various threads on here that its a conversion that can be done but most seem to be about fitting Bi-Xenon and not single Xenon's. Also can it be done without the need for a BMW harness which by all accounts cannot be purchased anymore?
My car currently has LCI Halogen's fitted which I have been happy with until I had to remove the HID kit. My car has Auto Lights, Auto Wipers and headlight washers from the factory. On a side note one the Xenon's I have purchased the main Xenon lens seems to sit in a non central position?? There appears to be no damage to the headlight. Is this something I can adjust? |

Hi, those are Bi-Xenon Pre Lci headlights.
It's a simple retrofit. I've done it. But to it properly get: 1. FRM 2 XE 2. Wiring (you can make it yourself or buy a harness) 3. Autoleveling sensors (front and rear). Also, the stock angel eyes are rubbish. I'd strongly suggest as you have them out of the car. Replace the angel eyes with LED rings. KYCS are very good at this. Good luck. |

Yes, you should replace the FRM to one that supports Xenon. Your halogen one won't be.
You don't have to install the level sensors but without them you'll get warnings on the dash. This can be coded out and the angle set to default. I doubt you have auto level sensors. If you can adjust them mausoleum with the dial next to the headlights switch in your car then they are manual and not auto. |

Cheers again, so perhaps a bit more to this than I first thought. Found this thread which seems to cover most of what I need.
Unsure if harness is still available anywhere. https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=912413 |

Update - I have not been able to source the harness as its long been discontinued which is a shame.
I have been improving them cosmetically but what I really need to do is clean the inside of the glass/plastic. I'm trying to remove the Xenon lens does anyone know how the below wire comes apart? |

Which wire? The cable leading to D1S bulb or the red and black wire?
If the headlight lens (the clear outer casing - not projector lens) is pitted and hazy then you can either wet sand and repair it (see YouTube guides) or replace the lens itself. |

Red/Black Wire
Yes I have done the outer plastic lens and its come up good, but I can see internal grime. If I can get Xenon Projector out I should be able to clan the inside of the plastic lens. |
