E90 no PDC sound after radio swap
Hi all,
I've read a lot but couldn't find any info. So, it may sound strange to you, but I swapped my broken LCD Professional HU with a Business HU, which I had from a previous car. My car also has a MULF , which also doesn't work. I just plugged the Business radio and it started working without any issues - AUX works as well. Then I started driving and noticed that the PDC doesn't work. Also, when I enter the settings of the HU, there is no "GONG" and "PDC" SETTINGS. What I already tried: Removed $663 option from VA and added $662. * NCS expert and INPA does read the 1RAD module, however there are only 5-6 rows of values in it in NCS expert. * Changed the VIN in the 1RAD according the car. * Did sg_reset on the 1RAD. *Tested the PDC in INPA, it seems the sensors work, there is just no sound from the speakers. The tool displays an error that there are no speakers connected. * In PDC module in NCS expert I saw that there was a value the sound to go via CAN or LSP. Originally, it was set to CAN. I changed to LSP, still didn't work, but the error message in INPA was gone. * Tried with and without the MULF, still no sound. Is there a chance that the new HU does not support PDC, or maybe I added the wrong module in VO? Number of Business CD is 65126975015-01 SW 45.00.10 , HW 02 Last edited by Mitev; 09-08-2021 at 04:26 PM.. |

If you have NCSexpert you might try reading the values in the Radio File.
We don't have RAD1 here only the Pro Radio. If you notice within the first few lines there is a PDC option but this is a Pro Radio. Last edited by ctuna; 09-09-2021 at 12:33 AM.. |

Thanks for the reply! I didn't remember all the values in rad1, but they were about 5 or 6, and there was nothing related to pdc, unfortunately. I think I have 3 options now: 1. Try to reroute the go gongs to the steering column speaker(which I already tried in PDC file, but with no success) 2. Maybe update the radio with winkfp 3. Just add the lines for PDC in the rad1 file... Best regards, Stefan |

Maybe the hardware in that radio does not support PDC.
I don't have PDC but the option to turn it on is in my file. Don't have PDC but I thought it had to go to the stereo to give you sound feedback on which sensor is getting close. |

Because the PDC is designed to route the signal through the stereo speakers
and possibly only the Pro Radio had the hardware and firmware to to that. |
