I recently worked on a customer's headlights that had one xenon projector stuck in the same position exactly like yours. Turned out the self-leveling motor's was stuck. I played around with it and was able to push it back in place. That problem seems to be fixed for now until it decides to do that again for some reason. I hope that your problem is the same.

Anyway you will need to open up the headlights, then also open the back lid (where you access to the D1S bulb socket). Goood luck!

Don't be afraid to open your headlight. It's alot easier than it sounds.

+1. All you need is a torx driver, box, and hair dryer.

if you want to make sure 110% that there is no condensation, buy something called window weld. It's butyl, almost the same stuff the headlight is sealed with.

As someone who's done it with a heat gun and baked it in an oven, it is a million times easier baking it in the oven. That way it's heated evenly and that much easier to take apart.

And yes, buy the butyl sealant. It's about $15 online.

Do you mind sharing the temperature and amount of time you baked?

I have a spare headlight I want to play with and work on before working on my actual car's headlights.

Figured I'd save this for a drunken weekend project.

Edit: (Pre LCI E92 headlight in question)

If you don't want to deal with loading the oven up, the box serves as an oven. You cut a small circular hole in the box and load the heatgun into it. Works just as great!

I did mine for 8 minutes at 215 degrees per this DIY:
