Procede v2 vs JB2R... Customer vs Customer *video*

Met up with Jonmartin to do some customer vs customer runs.

JonMartin got a JB2R from Terry a few days ago and has been driving on it for a while.

We decided to meet up and do a few runs to try to replicate the runs vs me and Terry.

The runs with me and Terry didnt really add up since the dyno numbers didnt corresponded with the runs. (JB2R and procede 2.0.2 power curves are basicly the same)

We did about 8 back to back runs. Nothing changed. Jon had 1 run thats in the video where he started in 3rd and I started in 2nd, but other than that every run was in the same gear same rpm.

Everything was the same. Gas, passenger, weight, tranny.

Jon even has the same mods as terry other than weight reduction and tranny. Terry has cutouts, jon has full RD sport exhaust deleting 2ndary cats and resonator.

Terry seemed to have weighed his car with driver72, and it seems like his car is only 100-150 lbs less than a full weighed car. Thats about 10-15 rwhp.

To gain a CL in a 3600 lb car just from hp alone you need at LEAST 20 rwhp.

Also the gearing between auto and manual will not make up the 3-4 CL's.

We will be dynoing later on this week or next week to compare both.

Yup the runs were fun... Juicebox is pretty impressive I must say I would recommend it before some of the other tunes. I've ran the JB2R tune since friday and after it adapted it was FAST.Right after I got it from Terry I installed it that night (Thanksgiving) with no problems and had no Limps or CEL's. It did much better then I would have thought.I would say it's as good as my V1.47 .Which makes sense powerwise.

That is EXTREMELY interesting. Most on here thought this should happen and this really makes you wonder what Terry has done to his car. Personally I think his tune was leaner and on the edge to win. I hate to say but MANY tuners run the car to the limits on their own car in a marketing campaign so this is terribly interesting.

The procede V2.02 is not just faster, but MUCH faster. You just destroyed that JB2 in the second gear runs.

There can only be three reasons, more hp then he is claiming, less weight than he is claiming, much less rotational mass on this guys 19's. I suspect as a tuner he has a very lean A/F ratio and his car is probably tuned to higher octane than 98. If he does that he can run a very lean condition and much higher hp. I think everyone on here already suspected this was the case, but this is proof now. WalkedU's car is not faster, but MUCH faster.

Walked U - So is one difference that you have downpipes and jon does not? Would that be good for 20+ HP?

Thanks for the vids!

BTW great runs...this is the way I thought it should turn out based on all the dyno sheets we have seen.

Can you run a test with the JB2R on 98 octane and the Procede V2 on 93?

Why though? You can get a procede race gas map too and my guess the procede would beat it even worse then.

Because JB2R (race mode) can only be run with 98 octane, the standard map on Procede 2.02 is supposed to work with 93 octane so it really should perform the same as it did in this video.
My question is does procede need 98 octane to stand up to the JB2R ?
I always thought that one of the selling points of the Procede V2 was that it didn't need the race gas to have more power than JB2R (that needs race gas)

Are you saying they ran the R without the race fuel.

Great runs and videos guys!!

Jon -- you praise and recommend the JB2R, but you had the PROcede v1.47 and were waiting for v2. From these videos, it appears that Walked U walked you in a similar fashion as he did when you were running v1.47. Does this mean you're sticking w/ the JB2 (obviously you wouldn't run the (R) race gas switch w/ race gas all the time on a daily basis, so you'd have to revert back to the lower power JB2 on pump gas) or are you still waiting for PROcede v2 (to reinstall PROcede when you get v2)????

Dr. Dirt, remember the Procede v2.02 should not gain much from running the 98 octane since it is tuned to 93 octane. The only way it could is if the DME is retarding timing on the v2.02 tune which seems unlikely. If the Procede was tuned for the higher octane I suspect you would not be counting the distance in terms of car lengths but bus lengths.

Correct. You can run PROcede v2 on 91 or 93 octane pump gas; adding race gas and increasing your octane will only increase v2's power.
