Running without FMIC grill guards....bad idea?

I've been thinking about pulling the black mesh grill out of the front of my m-sport bumper on my 335i to show off the aftermarket FMIC. For a daily driver that sees quite a bit of highway miles....is that a bad idea? Does the FMIC really take a beating with rocks and debris when there is no grill cover in front of it?

Thoughts?

I've seen other people running their car without it. I don't think it's all that much different, and if you have a quality FMIC, it's pretty durable.

I'd say over time depending on the color (if it's black) you'll notice chipping from the color but nothing a little paint can't fix.

Do it.

I wouldn't...the aesthetics of seeing rock chips and bent fins vs. the upkeep to hide that stuff just isn't worth it to me...hide it behind the grill...

I took mine off. Its been fine so far. My vrsf intercoolers fins and everything are pretty solid. Id would take some pretty big rocks or something to dent it
