Second, have a some kind of razor blade to cut sealant on the foam door barrier. The only things to unplug to get the door panel off are the elec connector to the window button, the elec connector to the door lock, and the interior door handle cable. Make sure to unhook the interior door cable from the door lock and take off the little metal door lock rod. It pulls straight out. It will take a little force but it will pop out (it will snap into the new one as well). The only other items to remove from the door lock is the wiring to the window (2 tabs) and the cable from the outer door handle. You can look inside the door and see it on the back side of the lock. it literally pops in and out of place...just line up the grooves. Take the 3 black torx screws off and maneuver it out. Install in reverse order. Only pro tip to offer is make sure to take your 3 torx screws and thread them into the new door lock while it is out of the car. You have to self tap the holes with the existing screws. Much harder when you're trying to thread them and hold the lock in place. Hope that all made sense lol https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DV8JY2W...ing=UTF8&psc=1 Last edited by nerovega; 04-08-2020 at 10:01 AM.. Reason: link to part |

Thanks! I removed the paint that was peeling in the area. I did not do both sides. Luckily the passengers side is holding up. It blended well enough. I've heard it doesn't last too long in direct sunlight, so hopefully it will hold up through this summer. I need to spruce up all the plastics as well. I was thinking about going with chemical guys products for that. Anyone wanna chime in?

I tried that Wipe New stuff on some plastic trim pieces that were looking faded. It worked excellent on my side mirror trim. I recommend taping off the area, it will stick to everything when it dries. The chemicals in it are really strong and bad smelling too. It probably melts the plastic to make it shiny lol.

Mounted and balanced my summer set up. They're Apex SM-10's with Continental ExtremeContact Sports. 18x8.5 w/ 245/35R18 up front and 18x10 w/ 285/30R18 in the rear. Stock M-sport suspension has no rubbing either! The fronts can use a spacer, and it's urging me to do a stud conversion looking at my lugs. Also, I know the sidewall is a bit thin for some, however, it was needed for the widths and fitment I wanted.

Started swapping out the dash yesterday. Black/gray->Black/black. Spent a good 30-45 min cleaning the new dash. It’s hard to tell but you can see it was pretty dirty.(right side was cleaned)

Did you use a guide? I have seen a few, but none have worked for me so far. Assuming you did not buy the maps from BMW.

Got my maps updated today. Thanks to MadJoe for the help. Updated from 2010 to 2020. A lot has changed around Nashville in 10 years!

Swapped from winter tires/wheels to summer tires/wheels. I think the rears got a bit worn last season hahaha.
