Combox retrofit woes

Hi all
I know there's about a million of these threads and believe me I've read them all but I am still having issues and would appreciate any help.

I bought a used Combox and fitted it at the weekend, I already had a TCU1.5 and simply changed over the pins in the connectors. All appears to have worked in that I can connect to the Combox and have read/written to it.

I have some coding experience so it wasn't that difficult to change the VO.
I changed the prod date to #0311, removed $612, $616 and $633 and then added $614, $644, $6AL, $6FL, $6NF, $6VC and $7SP (I already had $615) and wrote them to the CAS and NFRM.

My CIC and MEDIA versions are C1A and C05.

I recoded the CIC and MEDIA ecus and then changed (in the CIC)
CONNECTED_DRIVE to aktiv
ONLINE_BROWSER_C0D to beide_aktiv
ONLINE_BROWSER_LIVE to aktiv

I also changed the Telematics vin to coding_vin in MEDIA

Things are partially working (with my android Samsung S8)
I have the Office option and can read SMS text messages.
I have the Bluetooth phone working but Bluetooth Audio looks like it is working but there is no sound i.e. it gives all the indications that it is working in my phone and the iDrive but I simply cannot hear anything. All options are as suggested. I have tried other phones and the exact same thing happens.

I do not have the Connected Drive option (although it did appear there once) instead I have BMW Services and in that menu, I see internet and BMW Online, at one stage when they were attempting to connect it would pop up that it was using the BT data from my phone, it never connected though.

I have tried many, many potential solutions and different things/ options have appeared but two major issues always remain. No BT sound and no internet.

I removed the VO references to the BMW Assist my car used to have: $6AA, $6AB, $8SC as I read that could be an issue.

I also read that I needed a US VIN coded to the Combox to allow the internet to work over BT, I tried that but it didn't appear to work either.

So, I have the following questions:
1. Is coding a donor VIN crucial to get the internet option working?
2. Is BMW Online dead for CIC head units?
3. Is it likely my Combox is faulty when BT phone works but BT Audio doesn't?

Thanks in advance for any and all help, really feel like I have tried everything at this stage...
