Tomioka Turbo's?

These seem very new to the market for N54 and I'm curious if anyone has firsthand experience with them. Seems like they have been making turbo's for other markets like the Subie crowd for a while now but I'm having a hard time finding much good or bad on them. Another forum thread seemed to arrive at the conclusion that they were Zage turbos from Taiwan and basically similar to GC's. Any other info, especially from a quality and reliability standpoint would be interesting.

buy it and let us know...the stock turbo location causes a lot of heat build up and on top of that you want to make the turbos spin even faster causing more heat.

Its tough to build a reliable setup in those conditions, it would be amazing if they can build a reliable turbo setup at that price.

i think this single turbo setup is more promising at $3k

Yeah, he's right, you should never place the turbos by the exhaust manifolds. Cuz they're hot.

i'm saying thats why lot of these aftermarket hybrid turbos break. Also one of the reasons you see high oil temps when you push the car with oil cooler even stock.

there a few times i hit close to 300 degrees on a stage 1 tune just on a canyon run. I had to start short shifting to let the oil temps cool. i know a few people who had well known brands like pure and etc that went through a few sets of them.

My buddy who went single turbo already saw drop in oil temps compared to stock along with the power increases and has hasnt had any issues at over 600whp. my sampling size is small but it seems the single turbos guys have had less issues

Yeah those are zage/vtt gc turbos. Hopefully they fixed the issues with them. There are tons of companies selling them under other names. Just look on alibaba, ebay, etc.

I bought a set of 16t Tomioka's, 10% off Christmas sale. They blew up and are total garbage.

Lol, heck no. Total disaster.

Tomioka Turbos are complete trash. I blew 2 16T rears. One lasted almost a year, but less than 15,000km, its replacement last 3 months, less than 5000km.

His customer service is trash. I'm 90% certain, Wayne from Hexon is now running Tomioka racing. He's a known con-artist.

I had to file a paypal dispute to get a refund from the replacement I purchased. He stopped replying to emails when I started a warranty claim.

Worst $2k i ever spent.

I now have a set of RB's. And the quality is light years ahead of any of these Taiwan trash turbos.

I would like to hear of anyone that has some that lasted.

All I could find was 1 guy, still happy with his 19t’s after one failed immediately. And about 5-6 people that had them blow up fast, and they walked away.
