Is it possible to polish BMW matte plastic parts?

I have some engine bay matte black plastic parts that have been scratched. Is there a way to polish out the scratches or another method to remove them without making the part shiny? This is an example of the finish on the parts I am talking about. Thanks! Jeff

Try to use a lighter at some distance. A light fire heals plastic scratches

Maybe not flame source, but heat gun/hair blower.
I have seen that vinyl wrap scratches are healed that way on some Youtube videos.

Don't use anything with abrasives in it, it'll smooth off the textured finish and make a glossy spot. No sandpapers, or polishes.
A heat gun may help round off the scratches so they're less visible. But overheating the plastic can also cause visible discoloration.

Have you tried using some plastic dressing? It won't fix the scratches but it may make them less visible. Autoglym Bumper & Trim Gel would be my pick.

You can sand and repaint with SEM or Duplicolor black trim paint as long as the area it’s in is not too hot. Prep by lightly sanding down scratches and do a final pre-paint wipe down without ipa.

I use autoglym bumper trim gel or anything similar made for exterior plastic. it leaves an excellent like-new finish.
