Tire Advice

Long story short, taking my 328i to the track in March for my first track day. Figured I'd get some decent tires, nothing too crazy as ill only do 2 maybe 3 track days tops. Bought 2 Hankook R S4's from a member here with about 80%+ tread on them. Problem is every where in the universe is out of these tires so I can't get the other 2 for the front. Should I sell the 2 that I have and buy a different tire set? Should I hold onto them and hope to get fronts by the time I need to go to the track? Or should I drive off a cliff?

Use another 200TW tire such as RE71R or AD08R. Assuming you buy these new you'll have stickier tires on the front which is my preference on the track.

There are a lot of options for 200tw, realistically if its in the DRY any similarly gripping tire will work fine. re71r, ad08r, a052, direzza z3 star spec, bfg rivals, nexen sur4g, even a federal rsrr will do you fine. falken 615 are now on sale i think from a lot of place since a new tire is out. I heard they are replacing the rs4 soon as well.

On your first track day, I don't think you'll hit the limits of a 200tw tire but just enjoy it. Search craigslist for 2 more tires in the 200tw category and you'll be set.

Edit: I see your on 245/255 currently, its might be a bit hard to find tires in 245 in 18s. You could definitely go 225 or 235 as well which is closer to an oem staggered specification
