RB GF 93 and e85 Dyno results! 681whp

I had a chance to get my car on the Dyno today with the new RB GF turbos and am extremely pleased with the results! All pulls were done on a dynojet in 4th gear. Also these are not glory pulls and should be easy results to replicate.

93 octane @ 18-19psi - 516whp

Was emailing about new turbos this weekend and (Ryan?) sent me this link. Very cool.

That's damn impressive, power curve looks great too. I'm interested..

What exhaust mods do you have? What RPM did you reach full boost?

Rob is great to work with and will give you a good recommendation based on your goals. In my opinion they are the highest quality twins available for this platform.

I have a CPE catless downpipes and the PE mod on the mufflers. So essentially stock exhaust modded. It depends on when the pull starts. Starting at 2800/2900 in 3rd it will hit 15psi by 3500. That is when wastegate duty cycle drops as it is approaching target boost. If you start at 2000 in 3rd (I do not recommend putting that much load down low) it will hit about 12psi by 3K. I will post up some logs from the street this evening.

These are what you call a Stage 3 turbo. There are others who think you can go stages 3,4,5... using stock size housings without changing anything but a comp wheel.

How much modifying was needed to be done to make these fit? I know they are quite a bit larger and some work needs to be done due to the size.

very minor tweaks to heat shield and coolant pipe I believe and that was it.

OP posted another thread about it.

Agreed. The "stage" stuff gets out of hand, but I guess it is what sells to the majority. It is amusing seeing stock sized housing stuff being called "stage 4"

Jeef is correct. The rear heat shield that bolts to the block needs to be modified. It can be done in about 30 secs with a ball peen hammer. It will not effect anything when going back to stock and is easily replaceable if returning to stock. This is due to the larger turbine housing. The water neck makes contact with the compressor housing. MMP or any other TD04 option is the same. I believe most just leave it. I am picky so used a pry bar to gain a few MM of clearance. Once again a 30 sec fix.

The other possible modification that needs to be done is for the outlet. It was originally designed to be used with hot side style inlets. I am not a fan of hot side inlets so ended up going with a N55 coolant tank. It allows or more clearance for the lower hose. I extended the lower hose and removed the tab on the tank so the hose could rotate to the appropriate angle. Last the vac canister bracket needed to be modified to fit since the n55 tank is wider. It would be an easy setup to replicate and very inexpensive. The other options are to run hot side inlets. You would be hard pressed to tell my setup was not factory if you did not know these cars. The turbos are clocked so the inlet is as far away as possible from the manifolds which is very nice. Also, I know RB is working on an aluminum outlet that will work with the factory coolant tank.

Overall a few mods, but nothing extreme and very easy to return back to stock if needed. I will share pics of everything this evening. If anyone has anymore questions or would like specific pics just let me know!

Also I did not realize the dyno sheets were so blurry. I will try to find a new place to upload images.

I like your N55 coolant tank idea. patiently waiting for more pictures!

I am holding off for the aluminum outlets so we can leave the stock N54 tank but don't get your hopes up for this. Doesn't seem like a huge priority for them right now.

For those who want to relocate the coolant tank, check out the Turner n54 coolant relocation kit. They even make a well put together hotside intake if interested.

I apologize for the links I am having issues embedding the pics. At first I was not thrilled about the outlet not working with the stock coolant tank. Now that it is done I would gladly do it again. The outlet is routed as far away as possible from the manifolds. It is a very tight like anything in this bay but makes zero contact. Also, I did space up with N55 tank with a nylon washer for a little extra clearance on the lower hose. It will work without but I am very OCD about fitment and hoses/pipes/wires etc that are rubbing or not secured.

This setup is making me rethink wanting to go with a docrace single kit. Similar power bands and numbers

Well...not really. It really depends on the size of turbo you go with. A 6266 can max out at 800whp on an n54 for instance. Big difference from 680.

Also, why dock race, get a acf kit, much better design. Or be a lemming.
