Ive done a 400 mile trip before... but that was from JMU back home to NY

...

We are easily talking a 6-7 hour trip here... uh oh....

I say minimum 10-12 hours as mentioned....the route dictates a lower average speed regardless of attempted driving bravado

Okay, I'm back. I don't know if that's too long for most people or not. We'll just keep it as an idea until we get more input from everyone else. All we have to do is extend the map, if we decide to do so. Also, we should start making a list of what you need to bring for this.

FARK - 10 to 12 hours of slow driving?!

My guess if this happens... folks are gonna drive a couple hours, get seperated and lost, get fustrated and head back home!

We may as well roll down to the beach and spend the evening chilling by the water

We can go 2Fast & 2Furious and all speed upwards of 100MPH on the twisties, the cops can't catch us all...

There's no way short of a WRC spec car, you can sustain 100mph avg speed on those roads. 40mph average speed is plenty fast....

I'm thinking about rerouting again...some guys at m3forum had some problems when they did a similar rally, except they were going a little fast.

So, it should be fine if we all stay under the limit, but is $15 worth 35MPH limits on a great road? I'm currently looking for alternate routes that have higher speed limits, and not as police/ranger ridden as Skyline Drive.
