Replaced AFS Active Steering module- need help winkfp

Hello . Hopefully i can get some assistance or direction.

Patient: 2008 bmw 335i w/active steering

I replaced my damaged AFS module- active steering control module. The original was causing dsc, brake, tpm malfunctios it was completly dead. Not responding.... So i bought a used one. Worked but after driving a bit malfuntions would trigger

When I used INPA to read module status...the AFS module showed VIN yyyyyyyyyyy instead of my vehicles vin.

Being fluent with ncs expert I got the balls to usw WINKFP to,update and writte vin to my module.

I imported all the data, ecu, sgdat files from sp daten v53.

Though i had it all figured out ..

Well the flashing failed. After reading a bit further I found that i had not matched the production date zb nunber to the module family afs90.

When going back to,reflash i found that my zb number was not available as one of the options.

Zb number not found message

Does anyone know, how,I can solve this?

What zusb number did you choose? Based on what? Did you try comfort mode?

i used zusb #6782284

my afs module called for zusb #6782283 which i could, not, find as an option in winkfp when selecting module afs90 family module.

step 1: hit f1 comfort mode
step:2 updatedusb --selected zusb #6782284 . (only option it showed)

step 3: entered vin

step 4: hit done

step 5: hit prog zb update

Your cable is setup correctly?

Is AFS working ok now, or it stopped at all?

It looks like it failed authentication and signature verification.

Something may have gone awry when you imported the daten...do you have a file named SGIDC.AS2 in the C:\EC-APPS\NFS\DATA\GDATEN folder?

ZB number 6782284 is correct:
Code:
;SG-TYP: AFS90
;ZB-NR TYP-NR HW-NR IX SW-NR AM PIN S CS
6782284,0000000,6782284,A,6782284DA,0FFFFFFFFFD,000,1 7
To verify, launch INPA and identify all installed modules...E90 -> Select E90 -> Functional Jobs -> <F2> Identification. The Part No. should be 6782284 which aligns with the HW number above.

I suggest the following modifications:
  • Uncheck Test Checksum
  • Uncheck Force program programming in comfort mode
  • Uncheck activate Bootsectorupdate
  • Uncheck UIF write after data
  • Uncheck UIF write after program
  • Uncheck UIF write in comfort mode
  • Change the Base directory for working directories of WinKFPT to ..\

If you want to be prompted for the VIN, you will need to turn on UIF writes.
  • Check UIF write after data
  • Check UIF write after program
  • Check UIF write in comfort mode

If the module has been successfully flashed and you just want to write the VIN, you can also use Tool32 to do so.

Okay. I am just familiarizing my self with tool32. It doesn't look all that difficult. I will give this a try.

Thanks . I will report back.

What happened here?

Did you ever resolve this?

I am having a "2089 - ERROR_ECU_SECURITY_ACCESS_DENIED_SECURITY_ACCESS_R EQUESTED" error and cannot flash a module.

Did you ever resolve this? I have been getting a lot of DSC codes, brake light etc after installing a used AFS rack.
