So instead of 7 mpg advantage it would be diminished to 6.6 mpg.

Real world results suggest city 16 mpg for 335i, 22 mpg 335d; highway 28 mpg for 335i, 38 mpg for 335d.

I'm waiting to put in an order for the 335d as soon as it can be put in.
As far as upgrades, there are tuners in Europe already adding power to the d.
If you put something out, I'll be on your list too.
