I'm just waiting for the Kenwood Hall Hotel on the western edge of Sheffield, a few miles south of Snake Road, to get back in touch with me tomorrow to sort out a price for the Saturday night.

I'll try to reserve 20 rooms for the Saturday night. Friday night should be less of a problem.

Yes Matt, it's the A57 Snake Pass. The hotel I've booked isn't too far from the eastern end of it.

I received the following email from the hotel's reservation manager today, Fiona Kyte, after verbally 'twisting her arm' to the best of my abilities:

Quote:
Dear Viv,

Thanks you for your enquiry regarding accommodation at Kenwood Hotel on 26th and 27th March 2010

The rates are as follows:-
Single rooms £42.50
Twin / Double Room £50.00
Rates are per room per night and includes English Breakfast and VAT.

When your guests make a reservation please ask them to advise the reservationist that they are attending the BMW event and rates will be automatically honoured. The reference number is BMWC270310 however it is not essential for your guests to quote this reference. When making a reservation guests will be requested to provide a credit or debit card to guarantee the booking however no payment will be taken at this time. If a reservation is to be cancelled it must be done before 2pm on the day prior to arrival to avoid cancellation charges.

I am provisionally holding 20 rooms for 27th March and will release any unsold rooms on 20th March 2010. Your guests will still be able to book on the group rate after this date however rooms will be subject to availability. This just gives the hotel the opportunity to re-sell rooms that have not been taken from BMW allocation.

If more rooms are required then we can speak when that situation arises.

I will speak with you again, closer to the 26th March however please do not hesitate to contact me in the meantime if you have any queries.

The hotel can be viewed on the Principal Hayley website. (Address below).

Kind regards

Fiona

So, if you're intending coming to the meet, please could you contact the hotel directly & reserve the room you'd like as soon as possible & preferably before March 20th.
After you've done that, could you post to say so. I'll keep a list updated as the rooms are sorted out.

Thanks.

Viv

I'm surprisingly shocked by the prices quoted, Will, as will they, when they see us all.

I do, but it wasn't a vanishing act. After i showed carl and paul how to drink after the trackday ( was a good night) lisa fell and broke her elbow and i had to go home.

So i presume you want me to book your room?? Ill ask if they can provide a cot for you viv, a normal bed must seem huuuuge to you
