Computer system missing settings after repair of blower motor resister

I took my 2008 328i in for a blower motor resistor repair. When i got my car back it now has a different chime and the audio system now has a gong option from -5 to +5. It used to be like 1-5 for selection. Also the menu in the dashboard with the gauges only displays check control and service info? I don't know what to do, was I just screwed?

Its likely they updated all your software to the latest version.

I would ask them about it.
You should still be able to get the same display in your instrument cluster.
Have you tried playing with the BC stalk.

Did you take it to BMW?
Or a BMW Indy shop?
If it was an Indy shop I would think all they would have done
was replace the resistor.

See detailed response in the General E90 forum to which you cross-posted. You appear to not even realize that there was a recall related to the Blower Motor Resistor & wiring harness announced October, 2017. If any shop you took it to did NOT advise you of that fact, you have a bigger gripe than a software issue.

BTW, IF any module was reprogrammed, INPA will show date of any change, and other info related to change.
