Use your vin at realoem.com

Category Vehicle Trim -> Front Door

This should be close, but I don't know you're production date:
http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/show...diagId=51_5713

I cut my base foam backers, but it'd be cleaner to order the Hifi version with a recess for the tweets.

Remember, you only have to make it to the other side of the trunk. Not like a standard install where you're running from front to back.

I just didn't get this last part sorry. ( You could try it pretty easily by jumping the signals at the underseat connector to skip the underseat speaker.)

If I amp the Underseats only but keep the volume kinda low so it won't drown out the door speakers then I'm good for now right.
Right now the underseats and fronts are wired together at the underseat box. You would need to decouple that. You would tap off of the car side of the connector for the signal AND send the original signal back out to the doors.

im hesistant to feed a 10v signal into an amp that only accepts 8v
I doubt that the load is really 2 ohms full the frequency range. There's a basic crossover system splitting them up.

If anything, I would give JL a call and ask, otherwise use an LOC atleast.

I would recommend at minimum adding the Hifi tweeters to the stock doors and trebling down. The 4s just can't play crap in that frequency range.

ya thats a good call. ill call them up and ask. rather stay away from LOC becuase at that point ill just recode anyway.
i guess ill end up recoding regardless and it wont make a difference lol

Yea I think I'm just going to amp the Underseat subs first with a JL-audio 6 channel and when I find the right speakers at the right price I'll add them to the amp

Yes, they are specifically made for the E90.

Some pretty wussy power handling for aftermarket stuff, though. Probably meant to sound best with just the Hifi amp.

RMS power handling, instead of 80w, it's 60 subs 20 mids and 10 tweets. The materials listed for each speaker are wrong, too.

so on MB's site, it looks like its 80w for the components and 80w for the sub

The QM200.3 BMW is a partially active 3-way sound system that must be operated by a 4-channel amplifier or two 2-channel
amplifiers! These amplifiers must have an adjustable low-pass filter on 2 channels and an adjustable high pass filter on the other
2 channels. Please refer to the instructions in section „6. Amplifier Interconnection“.

Specifications:
Power Rating RMS 4 x 80 Watts
Power Rating Max. 4 x 120 Watts
Impedance 4 Ohms

taken right from the MB quart manual

but now im confused becuase everywhere else has them listed like amazon does. so different models?

or maybe everyone gets confused when quart calls for 80W becuase they assume it only needs 80W for all 3 speakers?
I mean in the manual it says 4 channels. So to me that would mean you need 80W for the 8's and 80w for the components. unles the components just wont draw much power but you need 80 for the woofers?

also ... on the box it says 480W power

that would lead me to believe that each speaker is the 80w RMS and 120W max (4x120 - 480)

FINAL CONCLUSION - I'm going to say that the quart's can take 80W RMS to each of the speaker sets (80 to the woofer, 80 to the components). otherwise it makes no sense at all that the box and the manual would have the 480w number, or require a 75x4 amp. Somehow someone must have mislabeled it and everyone else started copying it incorrectly
Also, this ebay seller from the UK looks like the description is correct

So i think ill be going with the mb quart system in the front. ill probably leave the rear deck speakers like they are and leave them powered weakly off the HU or just rip them out completely when i install the sub eventually

focals are definitely gonna sound better considering the cost of focal fronts are as much as the entire mbquart kit but im thinking the 200 saved is gonna be worth it for right now becuase im gonna use it for the jl 400/4v2
