PC 7424: Backing Plate vs. Hook and Loop

I'm purchasing a PC this weekend and I don't know if I should get a backing plate or a hook and loop. Is there any difference? Which should I buy? Which will work with CCS pads?

Um, you want to get a hook and loop backing plate if you plan on using hook and loop pads, which LC CCS are.

I have no idea what "hook and loop" might be if you're talking about things other than backing plates and pads.

a PC backing plate and the hook and loop use the same pads that you pick yourself. either flat or CCS

Dual Action (PC 7424, Flex 3401) backing plates have a screw on them for you to screw the backing plate onto the machine.

Hook and loop backing plates are for rotary polishes and you screw the plate into the machine since it has grooves.

If you are looking for new backing plates for your PC let me know. I bought these two on accident and I need to get rid of them.

They are brand new and still in the packaging. I will let both of them go for $30 shipped.

Let Me Know!

Good info posted. For the record Hook & Loop is the generic way of saying Velcro. Velcro is just a brand that has dominated the hook & loop market. You'd need a hook & loop backing plate to use pads that are backed with hook & loop (or "Velcro").

As SpecC pointed out, make sure you get the appropriate backing plate for your machine.
