NAS Jax Photo op

Well guys and gals, it's official. We've got the ok for either the 2nd or 3rd Sunday of March to have a photo shoot setup with an F18f and the badda$$ F18 GROWLER. If you live anywhere close to Jax, I'm sure you've heard them flying over recently! Their name is well deserved!!
The planes will be staged with the St. John's River as a backdrop! That's about $70 million dollars worth of high tech aerial assault. How awsome is that????

The bad news is that we can only get 6 cars on base for the photo shoot. So I'm starting roll call. I doubt we'll be able to expand this list but we're trying. Let me know who, for sure, will be going. We'll try to make this an annual event in either case.

We'll be taking out a couple guys for drinks after the shoot...

We'll meet over the next couple weekends to work out some small details for the shoot. Such as any special group pics and so forth we want to setup.

It's official, we're capped at 10 cars for this event. For those that we don't have room for their cars, they're more than welcome to ride in with someone. If EVERYTHING goes well, we're looking to do something at the airshow in October. So everyone will need to be on their BEST behavior as I'm sure we all will be!

Keep in mind, we're going to a BBQ joint after and feel free to chip in for the hosts' dinner and drinks! That's the least we can do for such an opportunity!

The plan is for everyone to drive in to NAS Jax at 12:45pm on Sunday the 20th. More details to follow.

Update: the planes we'll be using are expected to be a P3 Orion and an F-18. The P3 will be awsome for a group shot!

Professional in the sense that Valdivita is a professional photographer. Other than that no it is not. We'll also have my neighbor's son, who's just getting into photography, taking pics with a decent DSLR.

Video should be fine. My contact is working on whether or not we are held to 6 cars. Just draws more attention, the more cars driving onto the airstrip. Not to mention, a bunch of BMWs. I was told to get a count by the end of the month and they'd see what they can do. Worst case, we can probably do this a couple times.

The date also depends on the weather. It will definetly be outside as moving 2 jets in a hanger for pics with cars is just too tight.

hahahaha.....The weight reduction was about 10lbs considering I didn't eat as moch for a week. I catching back up though!

What would be the best time? I'm sure we can be flexible but I think my neighbor was thinking of starting @8-9am.
