3D Printing your own Walnut Blasting nozzle (links below)
For those out there looking to do walnut blasting but not wanting to pay the random cost for the adapter (which people have 3D printed the design of themselves NOT using anyone else's being fabricated and sold commercially) Here is my write up.
First, get the files from here: https://grabcad.com/library/bmw-n54-335i-535i-135i-walnut-blast-vacuum-tool-1 Make an account to download and then post a thank you to the guy who created the model. He did it for himself but shared it with the community so he should get recognized for that. Next, take those files to this next site: https://www.3dhubs.com/ You'll have to create an account with them as well but again, that's fine since this is to support the group 3D printing effort and community based sharing of designs and the like. From there you find someone you see has the type of material you want used or color options coupled with manufacturing time (usually is a couple day turn around for a new piece, nothing extreme), upload the info you got from the download earlier design wise to them and then you'll be able to preview what it will look like before paying for everything. I paid all of $13.49 for mine and picked it up locally from a guy here in Seattle, but there are people who ship globally. Enjoy and happy blasting! |

I have the bav auto one and a real one. The 3d printed one sucks. The BMW one is like 40 or 60 bucks I think. It works much better than the bav one.

If it sucks they used cheap materials. I've used mine for three or four cleanings now with zero issue so uh.. dunno what to tell you but that's why I wouldn't buy one from bav auto and the bmw one was like 90 when I looked it up which was silly.

Links are all 404 status, nfg. I have a 3d printer, and a need to blast! I will find those files and print up some nozzles to try out. If they work out I'd be happy to turn people on to them. This is not a business but I have a printer and you guys have helped with so much info it's the least I could do. Can't believe they're going to cost more than $2 or so , pla is cheap shit. R

Here is one on Thingiverse. Not the best design but could work.

You could use PLA or PETG for this.

I haven't printing this yet but I found an .STL that looks perfect.
Looks like it was created using inches so if it comes up very small in your slicer, convert inches to mm. Edit: Nevermind, file is to large to attach. You will have to create an account here to get the tool https://grabcad.com/library/walnut-blast-vacuum-tool-1
