Liqui-Moly CERATEC experience.....
I just finished my first OCI with CERATEC in the sump. I used the maximum recommended dosage and Castrol 0w-40 A3/B4 oil.
The result... over the 6 months and 8500 miles is was in there.. ZERO lifter clatter, ZERO make up oil needed to be added and maybe, just maybe, a slight mileage improvement. All of these have been issues in the past. The engine is quieter, for sure. Total vehicle mileage is 140k miles.... runs like a top. I'm a believer. |

I did a ceratec treatment on my car when I first got it 2 years ago at 57k miles. I did it because I believe in Liqui Moly as a company and have faith that they wouldn’t produce a “snake oil” product.
Since then I have switched from Castrol Euro 0w-40 to the Liqui Moly Molygen oil. Liqui Moly says there’s no need for Ceratec if you are using their new Molygen oil (the one in the green bottles) because it has its own treatment built into the oil.

In a Youtube video about the new Molygen oil a interviewer asks if you should use ceratec with the new oil and the LM rep says it’s not needed. I’ll see if I can find the video...
Here you go, skip to 14:36...

I certainly like Ceretec also, my C63 lifters get sticky/noisy if the car is not driven at least once a week. After running Ceretec for an oil change, i no longer experience any valve train noise even after several weeks of sitting.

Run an oil analysis next time. I'm curious, that is if you've done one before.

Cool, but - I get the same results running plain synthetic oil (no lifter noise, no adding oil).
My problem with these additives is always - if they really helped, they would just come in the oil to begin with. Color me a skeptic. |

One service with CERATEC, same Castrol and all noises gone. The ONLY noise when running with the hood open is the fuel injectors ticking. It's so quiet now. Believe me, I'm usually a skeptic too. |

But then the question remains if it actually reduces wear and all that? That I don't believe or else it would be in the oil like you say. |

Can vouch as well. I have not used Ceratec, but Liqui Moily Anti Friction treatment (works the same way) and it solved my lifter ticker. Lives in Canada where it gets cold.

I wish it helped.
Massive lifter tick still here - I’ve tried, ceratec, mobil one, Castrol, rotella, Lucas oil treatment, seafoam, praying to god, revving to 9k. Nothing helps. |

I think they do help, but the difference is usually minuscule and not enough to justify the increased expense to the company/customers if they put it in the oil. I'd also be interested in a UOA. I have a UOA from my N51 with Castrol 0w40 to compare.

I'm a huge fan of Ceratec. Used it in both my N52 and M57.

Anyone think the Molygen is worth switching to over the Blue bottles?

I actually just tried it in my 2013 Grand Cherokee with the 5.7L and it quieted down the noisy lifters considerably.
