BMW Mobility Kit vs. Conti Comfort Kit

Are these essentially the same product? Also, are they safe to use on replacement non-RFT's? The Conti kit says that it shouldn't be used on wheels with TPMS sensors, but it seems that several of you here went with the Conti kit.

I just purchased the conti kit myself. The way I look at it, if I really need this kit, i'm not going to care if it messes up my TPMS sensor. Thats the price you pay for getting away from run-flats. I can tell you from my first hand experience yesterday.......regular tires make a HUGE difference after driving on the run flats for the past 20k miles. HUGE, in a good way, like those Enzite commercials.

That's what I figured as well. And if BMW is including that same mobility kit with all their new M3's, then it's good enough for me.

Did you install TPMS sensors in your new wheels? Does the car complain if you install new wheels w/o TPMS?

I reinstalled the TPMS out of the stock wheels. And yes, the car would complain without them in there.

+1 when that's what I tell my customers everyday.

Yes the car throws a trianle warning signal and you get a couple extra beeps when starting the car, that's it. If you can live with the little warning light nothing will happen to your car.

i like the M mobility kit cuz it's much neater. Essentially it's the same thing. 30 bucks difference i think, if not maybe less. These might screw the TPMS but when you peel it off, you'll be good to go. The latex is solid so you can easily remove it.

How much is conti kit?

M Mobility is $84 at Tischer...

I might just get the BMW version if there isn't much price difference.

I purchased the M mobility kit from Tischer for $84. I don't know about the conti kit but the M kit comes in a great case that has a non-skid rubberized bottom to it that works great in the trunk of my E90. I placed it on the driver side near the taillight (the plastic cover over the power amp for the sound system).

man i wish this thread was up yesterday. didnt see the mobility kit on ebay under $100 so i just ended up getting the conti comfort kit. if i knew tischer had it for that price i woulda just spent the few extra bucks. in the end i dont think there's a difference but still, not a bad price for the bmw version.

u should have checked before buying. but the bmw package is much more luxurious. I had the conti kit, and didn't like the tire pump design (was planning to use it as a tire pump and also a tire sealant). you should see if you can return it.

I have conti kit. Used it twice to pump air.

I went non-RFT for winters, and yes I got the conti-kit. M kit never crossed my mind then oh well... Anyway, I used the thing twice to pump air after it got cold and the air pressure went down. I have to admit I like the non-RFT tires better. They ride better and don't bounce around like the RFT do. Just my 2c. If it destroys the TPMS so be it, I get where I am going safely.

well i sorta checked around...but didnt think of tischer. i just like the idea of having the oem product and how it looks. but in all honesty, after i get it and put it in the trunk, i hope i never have to see it/use it to care about looks.

I just bought this product from a local auto parts store ('Canadian Tire' for you Canadian forum members) for only $40:

http://www.activeproducts.com/airman_index.php

Funny thing is, it looks and functions identically to the Conti kit, but for only half the price. It uses Dunlop brand tire sealant. I don’t know, but im willing to bet that Conti uses the same manufacturer as these guys but slaps on a "Continental" brand sticker and charges twice the price!

They are now selling for $156, so the $14 increase back then was a joke...

Everyone should look at the SLIME Safety Spare - it does the same thing, no valve stem removal and TPMS safe!
