VIN on several modules not the same
Hi all,
About half the modules in my car don't match the VIN printed on the engine bay according to the Bimmergeeks Protool report. The ones that match are: EKP JBBF ZBE CAS FZD KLIMA PDC MRS EGS DWA TEL/MULF These all have some other VIN: MOSTGW VIRTSG90 CID DME/DDE CID These just show ÿÿÿÿÿÿÿ instead of the VIN: FRM LDM/ICM DSC CDC And NAV just shows VIN as 0000000 The car was built 2006 but most of the dates, even those with the correct VIN, are 2007, 2010 and the EKP is 2014!! So does this mean that most of the modules in my car were replaced at some point and is it a problem that the VIN doesn't match in all modules? I know the M-ASK head unit didn't come from the factory, it should be CCC. I'm most concerned about those which show a corrupt VIN. Would this be something I should fix or leave it alone? The head unit does show "head unit not coded correctly" and "head unit not programmed correctly" on startup but other than that, I can't find any other issues. |
