"Professional" sub installer only hooked my subs up to the left channel

As the title says, I had a "professional" car audio place install my two 12 inch alpine subs running at 600 rms each (2ohm). However Ive noticed that they really don't seem to be hitting as hard as I feel like they should be. My friends two 10's running at 150rms hit harder. I always put it up to bmw trunks just being more sound deadening, however I went and looked out how he tapped into the wiring harness of the factory amp (HiFi) and noticed that he only hooked up the left channel wiring into my LOC. Would this effect the amount of power/sound going into my subs?

TLDR: Installer only hooked up left sub channel into LOC, would hooking the right side up give my subs more power?

Yep beware when it says professional.
Lots of professionals caused every crisis we
have ever had.

What if the majority of the bass signal is coming from one side .
If both sides aren't hooked up you could be missing the bass signal entirely.

Not more power but it would mix in the other channel bass for the final result.
As long as you have an amp that supports that.

Hooking up other sub will give more voltage into amp, but that's what your gain is for - to adjust for lower than max input voltage. In other words, your amp will probably not produce more output, unless your gain is not set properly right now.

In all likelihood, the subs are not "hitting as hard" because you have a german luxury car with a very well sealed off trunk. I have written a post about all this, but don't remember where it is now...

very true especially for newer music. 90s and early 2000s you can get away with rookie installing subs by splicing into L or R channel to capture mono audio tones.

Bass is not stereo, only mid-bass and up.

bass in a DTS/surround system is mono correct, but in 2CH audio tap like how they tapped the sub amp for INPTT you will only pickup the midrange bass from the speaker tapped into, the amp isnt supplying it with the same low freq as it would for the sub out channels on true surround sound file formats, you can probably get away it it on downsampled mp3s. this was a rookie mistake i made like 10yrs on a mitsu i owned.

The channel tapped contains frequencies from 20 to approx. 150 Hz.
