Rear quarter panel , bottom of the panel. Very small bubble on the paint , I can not pick it with a screw driver yet. However I had a closer look around and there is small rust spots at the bottom of the edges of the rear door.

I small buddle rust on my suv for years and they stayed the same, but the BMW !! come on! I washed the car weekly !!

Anyways , what should I do , you can not even tell without looking at it very close , should I leave it? , picked on it ? .

I m going to start sanding down the bottom edges of the door , add a little primer and touch up paint , but those parts are not visible to anyone. I m afraid to even touch one at the quarter panel

get on it... Leaving it only allows it to grow as they trap moisture and salts. Touch up paint pens are actually pretty good if you don't need a perfect finish and just want to keep it at bay.

Agreed. With the amount of salt used up here it is bound to happen. (washing your car all the time isn't a good thing either as that's more water mixing with salt depending on conditions).

Did you ever get the car oil sprayed/krowned?

But yes fix it asap before it spreads and gets worse.

I have a theory that ppl wash their cars too often stripping the wax and oil.

I rarely wash my car unless it has a lot of salt on it. Instead, I wax once per year and spray the car with oil using a home brew technique.

Spray the car with oil? Haven’t heard of that but am intrigued.

so I sanded the area, it was mostly rust dirt , nothing inside the metal
I was able to get it out with 800 grid

I have not touch the small bubble yet, its very small .... Im afraid to make it worst lol

The thing with our cars, all cars, really, is that they begin to rust from the inside out.

cavity wax, rust proofing...(NOT just undercoating) is the only way to really prevent the rust bubbles from happening.

you took care of the surface rust spot well..good job...

the rust bubble is hiding more rust on the inside of the panel you are looking at. you do have choices...but doing SOMETHING sooner rather than later is the only way to keep the rust monster at bay.

the best way is to get in there and cut the rust out...which most folks are not prepared to do....welding in a new metal patch. Then rust proofing the inside of the panels.....

sanding it down from the outside and patching it with fiberglass or bondo is temporary...though fiberglass is a bit better.... (unfortunately, when it rots again, it will be much a much bigger issue)

fiberglass fix: 6 mo - 1 yr
welding and rust treating: much much longer!
