2011 328i Audio Upgrade. Where to start?

I'm new to the forum and I am also a new bimmer owner. I am going to upgrade my sound system and I'm not sure where to start. I would love to do the whole system all at once but $$ does not allow that. My question is should I do new speakers first or install an amp first. I have the hifi system and want to replace all interior speakers and put subs in the trunk. My fear is that if I install the amp first I will blow the stock speakers. Anyone know what the stock speakers can handle. Also if I install interior components first will the hifi amp be able to power them so they sound decent. Forgive me if these are newb questions.

FYI

I put my Jl 600/6 in and ran it for few days without problems before
putting in the fronts but
I was careful with the volume and the amp gains on the doors were zero.
Also Technic does this on a pretty regular basis and he even put a Jl 600/6
in his sisters car . I don't know if its still going or not. That is a lot of power
for the stock speakers though . Changing out the speakers takes it to another level but the amp alone is a definite improvement.
The old amp will have a hard time doing much with new speakers if there good ones I think.

I wanna do it right so I will prob change the speakers first. Gonna go with rainbow helix focal or something equivalent. Components front and rear deck and helix 8's under the seats. Wanna power the interior with a JLXD700/5v2 and a mono block for the trunk sub.

Go with stereo on the underseats

Go with stereo on the under seats especially if you are adding
a subwoofer. Don't know if that was intention but the number
of channels that amp has suggests it might not be if you are not
using the sub channel for a true sub. This means you need the Jl 600/6
if you are planning on amping all speakers.

The rough calculation for power is BMW says the stock speakers get 25 watts,
but they don't say peak or rms so if the are peak that's about 13 watts rms.
When you stick the Jl on there you are getting 100 watts rms since the Hi Fi uses
2 ohm speakers . That's a lot more.

Thanks. That was another thing I was wondering. If I should run the under seats in stereo or mono. I was gonna run them off the 5 th jl channel in mono but the jl 600 makes more sense. I'll use a separate amp for truck subs.
