Red face ordered a coupe in April

Hi Guys, i'm new to this site and I put a down payment on a 328 coupe back on 4/21 to be exact and my salesman called me today to let me know he doesn't have a production # yet. Wouldn't you think by now i would have one?

Welcome to the forum! Yes, I would think you should have a production number by now. Even for the 335i that is in really high demand people get them much quicker than you. If I were you, I would be putting some pressure on your salesman. What was his reason for not having one?

You should've gotten the production number the moment you put a deposit down. Call back and get one immediately. The longer it takes for you to get the production #, the longer you'll wait for the car.

Thanks a lot! Boy he told an order that was placed with another customer of his back in the end of March finally is arriving this week. I really don't get it, I speak to him about it, if anything I'll see him in person...what else you recommend?

Maybe he sold you a future allocation? Or maybe they haven't put it into the order system yet. That happened to me. They dragged their feet for a few weeks before finally putting it into their "system" and getting a prod number. I wasn't all that concerned because I still had 4 months to wait

yup, you should've gotten one already; he may have sold you a car from an allocation he hasn't received yet, hence the lack of production number but should've told you that already ...

Either way I would demand an explanation and go elsewhere if need be. Unfortunately this may be an indicator of future relations with them.

I put a deposit down of 500 bucks, he told me at the time, a production # will give be given to me 3-4 weeks (its now 6 weeks, and I don't have one). Now he is even telling me that production # may be an '08.

So the consensus so far, is that I should have received a production immediately? Feed more information so now I can proceed with paying a visit.

It may not b what you want to hear, but I ordered my 335 Coupe on the same day you ordered your 328. I am taking delivery on Friday.

What dealer did you go to...Manhattan or Rallye?

Hassel...

I got my E90 in Manhattan, and wanted to use them again because they are convenient and close, but they said August would be the earliest I could get the car. Rallye said the same thing.

My father has been getting his cars at Hassel for years and I had also bought a CPO Z3 there back in 1999, so I knew the dealership was good. Plus, they had a status 112 slot they let me modidy and gave me a grand off of MSRP, so it was really a no brainer.

I haven't seen Rallye's new building yet but I heard it something to see...

Yes, the new Rallye building is really nice, put it to you this way, it reminds me of roosevelt mall but with nice German cars (and hot receptionists )

the building is close to my job plus, I got a good deal...I don't know what to do from here...

also can you elaborate on the status 112?

Status 112 is right after status 111(i'm not being a prick) and the final stage, about 3 or 4 days prior to a car hitting the line where it can no longer be modified. The difference between your CA giving you a production 111 versus a production 112 car can be weeks or even months. Ideally, you want to a status 112, but need to get lucky or call around A LOT, which is what I did.

What do you do for a living?

Should I ask this salesman if they have checked for a status 112?

I work for a plastic resin distributor in Jericho.

I'd like to think that if they had one you would have gotten it...but it's certainly worth a phone call.

Yup, you guys should visit Rallye just to see those smokin hot receptionists. I think I'll be getting my car serviced there frequently.

So did you order a 328i or xi? I just ordered a 328xi coupe from there about a week ago.
