Boost leak?

hello, im fairly new to the e90 chassis so im kind of having trouble here. As we all know the oem CP is very brittle and cracks under any boost level. i blew mine recently and went with the vrsf cp wit stock dv. i lost my original O-ring and C clamp so i found a n54 part out and grabbed those. Now after installing it, i was under the impression that it was on all the way, but after each pull, it would slide off the throttle body. i read somewhere on a forum that it might be my c clamp, so i changed it and tried it again. now, it doesnt sit all the way in and continues to slide off every pull, do you think i need to change my o ring also?
