Coolant Low Warning Message

Has anyone received the coolant low warning message as well? I just got the message a couple days ago and they refilled it for me. The crazy thing is that my car is only almost 8 months old and has only 11600 miles and the coolant was so low that it took the porter what seemed like forever to refill it. Is this normal? Or could it be because of the high engine temps and missing oil cooler?

How many people have gotten the message? When did you get it, how many months in and how many miles?

i got it probably a month after i took delivery and thought that was way to soon and became nervous, searched and looked around and seemed to be strange but normal, ive had it for almost 8 months now and it hasnt come back although i dont frequently use it, i think it just runs out very quickly compared to other cars

The factory seems to fill it to the minimum needed and then the dealers are supposed to top it off during pre-delivery inspections.

But some dont, and then you get the warning at a low mileage.

Certain types of driving conditions also seem to make the car "use" water faster

You shouldnt have a problem

I just got this light last night, 25,xxx miles on my 06 E90. Should I be worried about a leak? or just go ahead and fill her up with a 50/50 mix?

I just got the same light on my car last night (2006 E90 w/ about 23,000) first time it came on.

After the car cooled down, I open the expansion tank and the indicator was "way" low... Added some coolant to what I think is the right level by the picture on the tank.

Car goes in next week for some scheduled service, they are going to check the system since you really shouldn't have to add any.

I got the low coolant message after the dealer found problems with my water pump. The dealer must have not topped the coolant level after draining the coolant out of my car.
