Just to save you the trouble, you do not need to reset the service interval unless you don't want another free scheduled service from BMW

Indeed. But if you MUST know how to reset service intervals, then you need to hold down the odometer reset button. When the ! triangle appears press the B/C button while still holding the ODO button.

You will get a menu with a bunch of stuff, scroll down until you see service-info and press B/C.

Then, scroll down to the oil icon and press and hold B/C and you will see the little clock picture count backwards...you are now reset!

That, and the tint was a $300 job. I don't have money to just throw around, he car was a gift to me and I invested that money into the car that I will never get out of it again.

thanks for the replys guys, so im gonna change the oil myself in my driveway and not reset the oil change interval. i have 6k miles right now and the computer says another 6k before oil change. so in another 6k, bmw will do it for free.

is anything wrong with that. will doing it myself harm anything or bmw say anything.

nope, they will have no idea you did it. just dont forget the oil pan! Also, might wanna keep hold of the nut that keeps the oil in your engine. When Midas changed my oil, it shot into the old oil draining resevoir and they had to dig it out (thankfully they had a filter to catch the plug).
