Other option is to find a seat with ski hole.
I promise you 2" of Birch is substantially stronger than the thin composite metal that BMW uses back there.

If you don't have a ski pass now, then there will be a metal plate in place, in needs to be removed.

Nothing secretive at all bud. Yes a hole or holes are cut in the reardeck then it is completely rewrapped so nothing is seen. When done, the rear deck, inside, looks as it did before we started.

If there's a person I'd trust to cut into my car, it'd be 6spdcoupe.

Just that I need to drive to Jersey and have him work on my car . Jokes apart, I am seriously considering replacing the rear seats with folding ones with ski hole. That seems to be the safest option. Then I can attach a shallow 10" or 12"

Nelson may be able to chime in but I added two 11 inches and there was plenty of space...BUT I have an E60. I just lurk around the E90 site cause you guys are normal and do cool things to your cars relative to the "classy" E60 guys.

Now that Don joined I can say he was my installer and did a terrific job with the rear deck. Personally I didn't it was crazy expensive but there is no way the PP82 can power the subs, so you need to add an amp in between the PP82 and the subs.

I drove about 2 hours to Don cause it's tough to find a guy you can trust with this.

With ski hole, i can prolly get away with an arc audio ks125.2 amp to power the sub in bridged mode.

Can anyone give input on how well this amp would work with a set of MBQuart 200.3?

Actually, folding seats are not ideal for single-sub IB setups. The fixed seat is best.

somehow, I cannot get the 82DSP remote to switch between tunes.

I tried the microSD card method where I coped the 2 tunes with .ac1 and .ac2. Infact, this method never worked even to load new tunes (right click on the "Save" button from the helix software 2.93v)

Then I connected the AMP directly to my laptop and did StoreDSP on both "setup A" and "Setup B". I enabled the remote in both profiles, Control 1 assigned to master volume, Control 2 to "Subwoofer volume". The controls seem to work. But when I click the mode button on the remote, the profile does not switch.

Just to clarify, I setup F30_BSW as Setup A and e90 as Setup B. The tunes are very different. So it would be obvious when the mode changes. Anyways, the F30_BSW seems to be my default choice.

On a different note, "I would very much recommend switching over the stock front doors over to some decent components if buy this amp". The stereo separation is what makes this amp stand out. I have the Seas H1396 tweeters with MBQuart mids and crossovers. The tweeters stand out so well.

Run them active if you have enough channels, and replace the mids with Morels. What amp would you be using?

I am using the PP82DSP. It does have 2 channels available but wiring the tweeters active is more hassle than what I am willing to handle . Morels are a priced a little too steep for my pocket. My audio upgrades so far are still plug and play. So even if I change my car, I can simply unplug the 82DSP and sell it.

I just wanted to vouch for Dons work. I had them install an IB setup to the rear deck lid of my E90. And they did an awesome job. The rear deck looks better than before after they wrapped it and the sub is barely visible with the trunk open.

Oh and it sounds great.

Just my .02!!

Yes the wiring is a PITA but it is well worth it. If you have the channels you need to just do it! You can get a pair of Morels mids in the mid $200's or even less used.

a million times +1 to that.

So hard to put into words what people have no idea that they're missing with active speakers.

For mid bass duty the Jehnerts will not be a huge improvement over the HiFi woofers.

Now you're talking big bucks. Like I said, a 15 through the ski-hole will be the best bang for your buck, by far.
