I had a major boost leak (was targeting 19 psi and hitting about 8 psi) and no codes were thrown... So you're 100% correct there!

Fortunately for me I had picked this up when logging, which as its been said before how important it is to conduct a data log run every now and again to check such parameters.
+1

when my chargepipe blew and wasn't even connected to the throttle body it didn't even throw a code.....

335gc, what happened to your thread about your VSRF issues? Did you ever get those additional pics of the BOV? Did you delete the thread?

That sucks how the only way to get things sorted was to go public. Clearly they didn't care about customer service and only fixed you up so you could delete the bad press.

I can guarantee the bov can't be welded, once you put a welds on there the c clip won't fit cos of the bulk of the weld. Unless you mount it on a lathe and recut it , but even then I doubt it'll seal.

At least the issue is resolved, he always seemed to resolve product quality issues if someone posted up pics of their issue and were diplomatic

In that pic I can sort of see the registered trademark logo so at least it may be real after all, but I have never had a real HKS product that looked that rough or broke like that.

I'm glad you are getting it resolved, I for one won't be taking a chance on using his products based on the few threads here and elsewhere that speak of fitment and poor quality issues.

A C clip fitting has to be precisely machined for it to seal properly. If you thought it was hard to seat before this is going to be impossible.

Don't use it, itll just cause more headaches. If you go for a Turbosmart Raceport or Tial they use Vband clamps which are easier to manufacture, have a larger margin of error and still seal no problems.

Mate just chuck it and put in some new bits

Im running a ER charge pipe and GoFastBits SV50 BOV

Great combo imo

Perfect fitment and the GFB BOV is adjustable so no more mucking around with springs to get the perfect setting

Will save you lots of headaches

Ran some 'new bits' today went and bought these:

^ comparison, i compare the hks to the hks > turbosmart flange and the hks one seems a few mm bigger??

^ bought this to run the turbosmart BOV and a new oring..

what do ya know... on the way home new BOV blew off yet again, lost my o-ring... no idea where it went

im almost 90% sure the chargerpipe is the defective component now, as ive shaved an oring, bought a new oring and used on the few mm shorter flange adapter and c clip still blows out..

that and i pulled the charger pipe off, its ate my sensor o-ring shredded it.. and only had one bolt in the sensor holding it on the charger pipe.. i know 100% i screwed both in.. so ones come loose ill take photos of the pipe tmoz...

so much drama because of one charger pipe/bov

Cars holding boost now, turns out the C-clip was shit, i got an ancient BOV and flange off a mate, pulled the c-clip and o-ring, FITS way better and havent had a re-occurring problem yet!
Except for now the car throws misfire codes and CEL, mechanic didn't put my CEL fix on, wondering if thats the issue... that and my DP's seem to be hitting steering rack.. so will have to go back to him when im home, hoping its not the coils/injectors although ill have to replace.

Cars at the bodyshop, will have it back next week with my 1m bumper painted, mesh will be gloss black, and rear defuser will be painted to match, pulled off my bonnet insulation as it looked like shit.

Got done by cops for BOV to atmosphere.. took photos and sending me out a defect apparently, Turbosmart > HKS.. sounds way better and a much better unit i find. FTP.

Also VRSF sending me out OEM Silicone Inlets, should have them when i return...

Anyone got any BMW cowl filters to so i can piss this annoying cowl off?

Drove past a nightclub in southern goldy on my way home at 11pm everyone was being moved on out front, was 3 units outfront, one must have radio'd to have my pulled over cus it was an unmarked car that stopped me.
Nothing but, wasnt hooning or nothing just random... the last pic i posted he overtook 3 cars just to pull me over and called a unit to bring a dog through my car and asked 'do you blah blah dog through your car' yeahhh cus i want a dog on my leathers lol..

The top pic, was in the middle of a road island popping his head out a bush trying to get people for speeding, he chased me down and overtook me parked in front as he suspected my car was a stolen vechile..

1m bumper fitted and painted fly home wednesday cant wait

active cruise control module still intact, cooler now sigs flush with radiator support panel, rear diffuser painted and re-fitted

as far as im aware they had to cut the mesh for the cruise control module, but done so.. so it looks good apparently

So in love

apparently fitment was a prick, still got the gap between bumper and bonnet i need to address, for now it can reduce IATS haha Have to have a closer look, just flew home today camp got evacuated Overall but im heaps happy with the finished product, thinking about blacking out my chrome trim, painting my roof gloss black.. and a m3 bonnet is on the agenda really like the look of sockets.

Been thinking about upgrading turbos around xmas possibly, or having the oem ones ported with billet wheels by MTA turbochargers here on the coast, gotta double check on prices with him again, and if the gains would be worth it, perhaps someone else can comment on porting oem turbos with bigger billet wheels? will i see much of an improvement?

^ Pretty happy how they cut the mesh to fit the camera, exactly how i pictured.. doesnt look to bad either and ACC still works 100%

^ got oem tray to replace the stupid phone and fix my auxiliary that fell in.
