Lots of changes: final iPod Interface in, new iDrive menus and more

Any changes to the nav interface? If they snuck a "search by POI name" in there...

I'm still trying to figure out what the changes all are. Things have been moved around; for example, it is much easier to get to the "information" screen to get info on a destination or location.

Just picked up my car, and it has the new PROGMAN. I also got the iPod hook up in there, but they didnt put the software on for the thing...I dont get it haha.

Is it still only the 6 playlist and track number?

Or can you see the actual title, number and artist of the songs?

Mmmhmm my SA told me I would have to come back for the software, it wasn't something I was unaware of, but I do have the latest PROGMAN as per the other thread you started.

who did you talk to?

I talked to my sales rep and provided him with the part # posted in the other Ipod MOST adapter thread. He said the part is available but their service dept haven't received the service bulletin yet so I'd probably have to wait a bit. Still seems a bit pricey but considering that my Ipod is the sole source of music in my car I'll likely end up getting it done.

When I plug my iPod in I get the roundel on my minis screen, but the CDC option doesnt show up on the iDrive screen.

I'm new to E90post.com. I left my 05 Cooper S, and Mini2.com all behind in April when I traded up for a Monaco Blue 325. I have the Nav unit again, but cannot wait till the Ipod adaptor is released. I have been calling my local dealer on a weekly basis with no release date. Does anyone have any news about our adaptors? Can someone also fill me in on the issue with production dates? Reading some of the posts makes me nervous, my 05 Cooper S was one of the first 05 builds. I wasn't so lucky with issues regarding the HK stereo and Nav set-up. I also "experimented" with the Dension Ice-Link Plus, and their promises in the world of TXT support on the Nav display.

Someone help!

Uh, even overlooking the fact that you are new, you are post number 80 or something like that in a thread full of info on this subject. Why are you asking if anyone has news?

Interesting to see the changes to iDrive. Is that part of the PROGMAN update with the install, or do I need to ask for something else when I take my 330 in next week for the iPod install? My 7/06 build 330 does not have the updates shown above, so I wonder when this update was released...

Hmm...its worth it not to have to hit accept on startup, and I have the slow iDrive boot at times. I'll have to hint that I'd like the PROGMAN update while its in the shop even if my current version is compatible.

They won't upgrade unless they HAVE TO since BMW has announced a policy of not paying for upgrades unless there is a documented reason.

But for the iPod Interface, upgrading modules is necessary and documented.

I have read the posts and it sounds like there is one person in the US with the adaptor installed, and one in Germany. I can only speak for myself, when I say, "BMW of San Diego has no info or clue when the adaptor will be released". So all this chatter of a unit installed makes me ask questions... When did it become available? BMWNA has a press release stating July...so here we are in August with only one installed in the US.

As far as I know, there are probably at least dozens installed if not more and BMW has shipped hundreds of units to dealers.

So it's not one in the U.S. and one in Germany.

From early June until last week, there was one - in my car. But that was last week.
