Question about JB4, Simota induction kit & the Autovogue exhaust!
Okay so... Been looking at getting the JB4 for a while now, seems to have everything I want and more. But there are a few things that have been playing on my mind...
I'd like to apologise for what may turn out to be complete noob questions, I have searched the forum and found no answers! Here goes: Firstly, I notice most members seem to be purchasing this with the dual cone intake. As I gather this adds another 15bhp or so. I'm currently running a Simota carbon intake Linky here Obviously this will be compatible with the JB4, but will I be missing out by not having the dual cone system? The same goes for the Autovogue kit I have which comes with a different exhaust though I have no idea who makes it and whether it's supposed to enhance performance. Basically what I'm getting at, would this combo of induction kit & exhaust be a worthwhile addition to the JB4, I assume it won't hinder performance?! Cheers fellas |

From what i have read, set it on map 5 and it will autotune to your cars mods. Phil will hopefully be along soon to verify this.

JB4 will work fine regardless of the air intake/exhaust set up.
Map 5 will autotune, or you can just set it to Map 1 which is the most conservative map. My understanding is that most if not all air intakes makes little or no difference to BHP, and actually the stock box is pretty good. A quick search in the US forums will show up dyno plots of the stock box vs the dual cone intakes...essentially not that much difference, well not compared to what the JB4 tune does to the engine output anyways |

I had considered map 5, but I'm weighing things up.
On one hand, map 5 will make the most out of my current mods, fuel etc but I don't wanna take the piss with how much power I'm asking for. Maintaining reliability is a high priority... On the other hand, will map 1 be overly conservative? IE will the induction kit & exhaust make no difference to the overall power output in this case? |

JB4 sounds good mate, but the AV exhaust? is it any good? I saw an AV coupe on the road once it looks crap. No offense to AV car owners "beauty is in the eye" an all that.
How about a nice Eissmann or the BMW PE? All the best chap. |

Totally agree, seems like the AV kit is a complete love/hate matter. Luckily my eyes see its real beauty
No idea about the exhaust, I don't think that it's their own one maybe just something re-badged from another company? Either way, I've already got the car with the kit, so not thinking of going down the PE route :P Can't wait to get the JB4 now... But have a feeling the extra power isn't going to be of much use until the weather perks up |
