I'm more concerned about the smell when idling at a light.
So I been trying to get a sniff of the exhaust for the last couple of days since getting the HFC installed and I am not able to pick up much of anything. But it is definitely a night and day difference from inside the car at a stoplight and standing behind the car idling. Definitely recommended for smell issues. Before I had installed the HFC I had vibrant 1792 resonators in place to control the raspy exhaust and quiet things down a little overall. Now with the HFC in its place now, the sound is the same or a little louder it seems and the rasp is a little worse but not bad at all. I'm happy with the exhaust sound.

That's nice! thanks for letting us know.
I'm assuming from your signature that this is VRSF 200 cell HFC

No I actually have the VRSF catless DP. I just added two of these into the exhaust midpipe: http://mandrelbendingsolutions.com/m...low-converter/

Catless downpipes make the exhaust gases smell amazing even one of my girlfriends said she enjoyed it lol. I have VRSF catless DP and VRSF exhaust and I enjoy the smell of driving almost as much as driving now.

Garage List
Smell is subjective...

Unless you start your car in a garage or with the windows down, the smell is negligible. Factually, assuming your direction of travel is "Drive" or forward and your are traveling faster than any prevailing "tailwind" that might exist, you will not smell anything.
If you do smell unburnt fuel, you probably have an exhaust leak.

Do you have stock exhaust? Cause I got PE exhaust on my E90 RWD (no res from factory) and it smells really bad when sitting at a red light if the wind is coming from the back of the car. It sounds awesome though

With just the primary removed, the smell wasn't that bad at all even with windows down all the time. With the secondaries removed by my catback as well, the smell is bearable, but I feel ill idling with the windows down for too long. Definitely considering swapping my downpipe for a HFC by next summer.
