E90 petrol cars?!
Hi hope you all are well!
I'm currently 19, and I own a e90 (2007) 318d. I have remapped it and did other subtle mods etc. I love my car I think it's amazing and it never has given me issues even at 120k miles on the clock. Pics of my car down below However..there is an incoming diesel tax in London, UK where I live. I know most people on here are from the US however I can still benefit from everyone's knowledge. I'm currently looking at an e90 325i, is this car any good or is it known for being a bmw which isn't very much rated? |

E90 330i was only on sedan and wagon body style. The 330i for coupe and vert were still e46

I've been to the US a couple times as I got cousins over there and the cars you guys drive are amazing. Like I've seen so many challengers, m cars, amg's etc here in the UK there's probably only 4 challengers in the whole country 😂

I would hold onto what you have; you're not likely to lose enough to make buying a petrol car worthwhile. And you have a car that you've put a lot into and is "just nice".

Sadly it's hard to find a small diesel with a manual in the USA. VW offered quite a few options for a while until their emissions cheating scandal. Many of those TDI buyback cars are now starting to show up at dealerships for sale, with reprogrammed software meeting US emissions but cutting the power and fuel economy a bit. I have had my eyes on a few but for almost the same price I can get a 335i that's just as old and a hell of a lot more fun to drive. Maybe even more reliable too (I still don't trust VW/Audi after my experience with a 2001 A4). The 335 is not nearly as efficient as a Golf TDI but for the same money I would much rather a BMW than a VW Golf. Chevrolet allegedly sells a Cruze in the USA with a diesel engine and manual transmission. It's basically a Vauxhall/Opel Astra with an ugly Chevrolet badge on it. I still don't mind and would love to buy one but sadly their configurator on their website will let me build a car with the options I want (Hatchback, Diesel, Manual transmission) and no dealerships within 2500 miles have any available. Short answer: Keep the awesome car you currently have. |

Considering the OP changed his gauges to white; he knows nothing about BMWs and should be banned from the brand. I'd tax his ass just for that!

A manual transmission can be set to "comfort", "sport", and "track" modes simply by the technique and speed at which you shift it; it doesn't need "modes", modes are for manumatics that try to behave like a real 3-pedal manual transmission. If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."

But people that don't commute stick with petrol. I have a 2010 320i as i drive in city and DPF will die with these short trips. You wont see many 330i in london as they very thirsty in town. The guys that want performance drive 330d or 335d |

May be tough because of your age and the rarity but if you can find a 320IS it seems like it'll suit your needs well

Don't get me wrong I don't think my remap is enabling my car to push near 170bhp, 170bhp would be nice with a little remap to help low end power, I guess if I'm lucky it'll be 325i or if not the 320i
