PWR radiator

I finally now ordered the PWR radiator for my car. PWR is a well know company specialised in performance radiators from Australia.
I am getting tired seeing temp up to 111 C in traffic and around 106c at the track . My AT is probably the main cause and i am sure both the engine and AT will be much happier.
I will log pre and after temps trying to simulate the same conditions.
Price is 1100 usd shipped to their distributor in sweden.
Will keep yo guys posted on the results and fitment!
Will also check with them if they have an AT cooler.

Pics when you get it? I'm going more towards the cooling route now since I'm maxed out with performance mods. AT cooler would be kickass!

Nice. I would be interested to see your results as well. If the PWR radiator is able to keep the coolant temps down then the rest of us should be good as well. One thing I'd be worried is the LHD vs RHD engine bays.... I hope this won't matter but you never know.

Well the AT radiator has the same code for both lhd and rhd so it should fit nicely... Hopefully.

Are MT and AT radiators different?

Hmmmm.....component protection begins at 117C.

Your water pump must be working overtime!

Ilma -

Interesting information about the coolant temperature that triggers "component protection" mode (117 C/179 F).

BMW motors in track cars are run at or below this temp for max efficiency, but I mistakenly imagined that the twin turbo N54 (at least with stock downpipes and cats) could be designed to run as efficiently at its higher operating temperatures.

I was a liberal arts major (a long time ago), and my understanding of basic combustion engineering may be a bit underdeveloped...

It's from the BMW tech manual for the N54 posted in the sticky section.

BTW.....I think 117C equates to over 200F since 100C = 212F.

I guess art majors aren't so good at math either!

I have a MT and no drawing I'm just taking the word of TMS that it will fit. And that sounds like the description I had seen.

i have cancelled my order for the moment since i found out my thermostat is not working correctly. gonna first replace that . I also might need to put money on different parts related to my AT ...
