Alarm Siren Batteries Bad
I have been getting a 9D12 error when I due a scan of my 2006 325xi. This indicates that the batteries in my siren which is under the left rear wheel well are shot. The alarm was installed by the dealer in 2005 so I am not surprised.
If I remove the old batteries (I believe that they are alkaline CR123s) and replace them, will I need to have the dealer re-initialized the alarm or will it function correctly. Thanks Wallyf |

Are the DWAS modules serviceable? I know that the ones on the E93s are sealed units. If you are however able to replace the CRs, you shouldn't have any issues from a software perspective.

Need to Check on that
Chris,
I need to look to see if my siren unit is sealed. I have found this part number for my 2006 325xi. Some others have NiMh batteries which are rechargeable. I assume mine had alkaline batteries. 65759243750 $193 @getBMWparts Wallyf |

Looks like 65759243750 is sealed
Found this photo on Eeuroparts.com. Looks sealed. At $200, I will not worry about my batteries being bad.
