Has anyone ever have a problem where you reset the service early than needed or accidentally reseted the service without doing anything to the parts(brakes)...the result is a yellow light with the mileage being "-------"..

I went to reset the rear brake pad indicator but accidentally reseted the front ones first.. so the front is messed up but the rear is doing fine.

Many thanks -- you just saved me a long trip to the dealer (this is the second time they forgot to reset the indicators after scheduled maintenance).

One thing that threw me: the service items show up as graphics not text. I have iDrive and so I was looking for "microfilter" and "brake fluid" -- I didn't recognize the icons. It was simple enough for me to go my iDrive screen and look through the list of service items -- but this time, I scribbled a little drawing on a paper since I had to turn off the car and start over.

Not sure where someone without idrive wound find a guide to the icons. Maybe in the manual?

It works fine with idrive. (It has nothing to do with iDrive. You do it from the steering wheel column.)

This works great, thank you.

The instruction was not exact, maybe because I am reseting the exhaust emission test service.

Thanks for the info.

I just used this to reset some BS service that the light came up for (Road Worthiness Test , and for an Inspection). Thanks again.

Spot on,

Just reset the Microfilter Service request. No problems at all, only differnece was, after entering the service mode, the first choice that came up was the actual one that needed to be reset, ie microfilter. So no need to scroll through the list.

Spot on, just saved me a few quid that one ....winner

It worked perfectly for me. I still can't believe their schedule is 13000 miles per oil change... I do mine every 3000-4000 miles.
